An intruiging delight.
Where do I begin with this set? Hmm...well, got it for me as a Birthday present while buying the ramen set for my friend. Only other experience I had with this line of product was the Sushi set with its bubblegum flavored rice and general "too sweet for my tastes" content. (Though the Roe was my favorite. But this isn't about the sushi set.)My curiosity regarding this one was stirred when I saw the Taiyaki. Those fish-themed munchies one sees in manga are full of mystery, so this was my biggest reason for getting it.Now, let's see if I can explain flavors without being distracted. The rice-cake mix is slightly sweet, but otherwise flavorless. This is good, because it makes a sort of stage for the other flavors to act upon. Like how a pizza crust is just there to hold the sauce and toppings.Perhaps I should start with the Taiyaki, now that I think of it. The cake/batter smelled faintly of vanilla as I was mixing it, and it retains said faint vanilla in its flavor. For a microwaved batter, it is slightly dense and spongy. (And it was quite amusing to watch it "swim" in my microwave, having had to put it on the edge of the turntable per the instructions.) The chocolate sauce is, surprisingly, mildly bland at first, with the milk chocolate flavor not revealing itself until after it has melted on the tongue. Eating it as a whole is similar to, but not quite, like eating a blob of Nutella between two waffles. Heck, I bet one could substitute Nutella for the chocolate sauce and this set would be even better than it presently is.The Daifuku had me wary, initially, due mainly in part to the strawberry. I'd feared that it would be a repeat of the Sushi kit and its gritty-textured fish, but I was pleasantly disproven. The combination of both the strawberry-flavored jelly and the chocolate sauce was much like the flavor of a chocolate-covered strawberry here in the states. Sans the fruity tang a real strawberry hides up its proverbial sleeve. What one needs to understand is that I, personally, am one of those odd people who cannot imbibe carbonated beverages of any sort. So this made for my first experience with the soft drink known as Ramune. To describe the taste of Ramune is to explain how a raven is like a writing desk. That is not to say it is unpleasant. In fact, it is quite the interesting flavor that encourages repeated tastes, as though tempting one to fully explain its intricacies. Or maybe I'm just not used to the wonder of Japanese beverages? Hard to say.Last, but not least, is the Mitarashi Dango. As mentioned before, the rice cake itself is slightly sweet, but otherwise nothing to write home about. The sauce, however, is like a mix of honey and miso, which can flavor-wise be compared to soy sauce. The relative flavorlessness of the rice cake actually shines here as a nice contrast to the rich flavor of the Mitarashi sauce. As always, this was fun to make, and a wonderful way to unwind from a day at work. I'm not all that good at leaving reviews on this site, but 10 out of 10, would buy again.

Best one yet!
I usually don’t write reviews for products very often, but I had to for this one! I’ve done every popin cookin set that I can manage to get my hands on, so I’d say I’ve done about 10 or 15, and this one was by far my favorite. It came out so nicely, looked wonderful, tasted great (much better than some of the others), and was the perfect level of complexity. I love doing these kits just because they're just so fun to make and you get a little treat at the end, but this is one that I will most likely buy again in the future. I enjoy all popin cookin products, but in my opinion, this one is the best!

Easy to make
Easy to make once you figure it out. Definitely taste horrible but honestly fun to make and pretend with my 5 year old, she liked the taste. She also loved it since she hates sushi but sees her grandmother and aunt eat it she thought this was great that she could have a kind of candy sushi. Make sure you read ALL directions first since I didn’t realize the plastic sheet was needed but that was my mistake.

Amazing! 10 out of 5!!
This product is amazing! The product did take a while to arrive BUT no longer than it takes other candies like Neri Ame since Kracie ships within a month. The candy itself is quite self-explanatory and the tools are so cute. I will admit it helps if you have previous tools from Kracie like a water pipette or a shovel-like scoop. Nevertheless, the product is great quality and not too sweet. The Taiyaki tastes like mocha filled pancake with a spongy texure. The Odango has a weird texture but since it is comparable to mochi I think they nailed it. The sauce to me was like of dulce de leche and toffee but less sweet. The Daifuku Ichigo was very delightful. Soft and chewy with a fruity strawberry gummy.Lastly, the soda tastes exactly like Nerunerunerune by the same people and has Neruneru on the cup! So cute it was to me! From what I can tell this is like a bubblegum-lemon flavor and like ramune soda. This is probably the only Popin Cookin where I ate the whole kit and loved it. Also it came out like the photo! I highly recommend this to someone unsure of what to try. Popin Cookin is generally not the tastiest... but this one is very tasty!Overall 10 out of 5!

Amazing taste, fun experience!
I had to use Google to translate the instructions/packages since this is a Japanese candy, but this experience is so much fun! I will definitely have to buy it again because it tasted amazing as well.

NOT candy flavored FYI
Three stars because the product came in undamaged, knocked off a star because it came six days after expected arrival date, and knocked off another star because its really freaking gross. Idk what I was expecting but this is definitely not candy flavored like some of the other Kracie candy kits i've tried. Still fun to make but I will not be buying this again ever

Order 2!
This was the first one I had ever made, so I slightly messed up the first one but i ordered 2 knowing this would happen. After doing it a second time I felt like I could read Japanese. ( I'm actually learning to but i cant do it that well yet). Anyways lets talk about taste, First the Drink. The Drink wasn't bad in my opinion you just have to enjoy the taste of fluoride. However We all have different taste buds so one person likes it the next doesn't. The Dango tastes like the real thing though it is slightly sweeter in my opinion, I do have to admit I don't like the sauce which makes it accurate. I have made dango and still never like sauce and the sauces taste the same. The Taiyaki was amazing I loved it. Strawberry sweet was delicious as well. My Final note is that, kit is very delicious I recommend ordering 2 because your going to start craving it.
