It did have the booklet though. The nib is flawless and started flowing immediately. My first impression is that it has slightly less feedback than my other Sailor PGS that I got from an authorized seller, but the line width is exactly the same. It's an unfair comparison though since I'm not using the same ink, as I'm using the cartridge this pen came with and not a converter like my other PGS. When comparing it side by side to my other Pro Gear Slims (I now have a total of 7) it looks exactly the same. So, it very well could be authentic and just didn't come with a seal of authenticity.
