Used this for stripping cat6 and cat 5e and it works perfectly every time. The other review comments about cutting in a spiral are correct but that’s just a matter of technique. I now get perfect cuts every time. So much easier to use than the strip cutters that are part of an RJ45 crimp tool. Go on, just buy one. You will never go back!

This stripper really does the job of stripping cat 6 ethernet cable without nicking the internal 8 wires. Usual crimper tools or a knife are hit and miss: this little beauty works very time. Sturdy construction and easy to use. Saves effort, time and stress: pays for itself even if you are only cabling your own home. A must buy if you are serious about making sound ethernet connections to sockets and plugs.

Used correctly this gives you a sufficient depth jacket cut. No internal core cut or abrasion. I have tried this on 5e 6 but not 7. I imagine it would be ok though. Very small and convenient for mobile operation. I have used other comparative products but they don't come close to this.

I bought this as I make off a lot of RJ45 ends for CCTV cameras, it’s one of the most tedious parts of my job, especially making all the ends off at the controls, could be installing a system with over 100 cameras. I used to use a pair of snips, which involved stripping the end of a cat5, then using the internal string to strip it further up as a pair of snips usually grazes the cores. I bought this to speed up the process and to make it easier to make all my ends off the same length and to improve neatness, it definitely does this and makes the whole process so much less tedious. Only bad thing I could say is that cuts through the insulation in a spiral, rather than a complete circle, but it still does strip the insulation fine and I will definitely be keeping this product in my tool bag as a keeper!

I use a cable stripper for oval and small round cables, but it struggled on heavier cables - cat 7 outdoor. This is simple to use. One side for shallow cuts, the other for deeper. One rotation only. Remove outer. If you aren't sure look online. It's hard to say how long lasting or durable it will be, but it certainly helped me complete patch and Lan wiring with minimal of hassle.

Using this tool is very easy. Strips the external sheath very well. I used it on external UTP cable. Very nice tool to use. Well worth the money.

These are great. I've got two - one for home, and one I've used at work for a decade. It's a mystery to me how they work as well as they do. Never once have I nicked the inner insulation on the cores, not had a battle to cut through the thicker heavier duty outer insulation on some cables. Five stars all the way.
