Exactly what I wanted
Just received this the other week and used it several times. Very sturdy and well made all around.I read one review that said the zipper is upside down, but I actually disagree. In order to get the balls to move from the retrieving sleeve into the bag you have to invert the unit, so it's natural to then zip from the (now) top side down.Out of the box it was a bit tough to get a ball into the end of the tube, but the metal loosened up slightly with use and I think it will be perfect for a long time. It definitely does not feel like cheap Chinese manufacturing - well made and made to last.

Straight on.
This is a replacement for the one I received a couple days ago. It was a gift for my husband. He was totally surprised because the blue one he has is very faded. After all it has withstood the test of time 40+ years. However the top of ;the bag with the handle was slanted/crooked. So he says "I think it's supposed to be that way to make it ergonomically correct. And I checked his old one and it looked straight and so did the one on the website. ?? So I think it is defective. And as it turns out when I requested a return label and replacement another one comes and it is straight. ?? He says he wants to keep it even though it's definitely defective. He said he will give the replacement one to my son as a gift.

Improve your practice
Was looking at this for a while. 50 bucks... Well, that's about the cost of a round of golf. Even at a municipal if you figure in gas to get there and a couple of beers. For me, finding 4 or 5 hours for a round of golf is pretty tough. However, I can find a 1/2 hour to knock balls around the back yard, pretty often. It really makes chipping and pitching practice much more enjoyable. It is well made and with proper care, eventually, be giving your grand children use. Made in USA. If you practice then you will like it.

Convenient Practice Aide
Sturdy tool that makes practice time so much easier. Its a bit heavy, but is very well constructed. The sturdy design allows balls to be picked up easily. Would be nice if it could be 'broken down' to allow easier storage/transport. This bag is slightly higher in price, but once you see the construction and read reviews of lack of quality of similar devices, you can appreciate that you're definitely getting what you pay for.

No Regrets, Best Quality
After using this shag bag several times now for over a year, I can say it's simply the best quality practice shag bag made. It's the same quality design that it was 50 years ago. It has a heavy duty zipper, a sturdy feed tube, fairly lightweight, and holds around 85 balls after the cloth stretches a bit. There's nothing not to like here. Saving $10 bucks on a lesser design seems ridiculous.

I've had this one for about two months and you can see just how much better the construction is and it picks up a ball ...
I've had two of the nylon bags with the nylon / plastic zippers that I got from a local golf store for $30 and and they both failed. The last one was about a year old and the bag started coming apart at the welded seams. I've had this one for about two months and you can see just how much better the construction is and it picks up a ball the first time every time in deep grass. Cant go wrong here. It reminds me of the one my grandfather had for 20 years when I was a kid.

You won't be disappointed.
My original Original Shag Bag lasted 23 years, and even then the only thing that took it out was being run over by a truck. The canvas had zero rips, the zipper still worked perfectly and smoothly, but unfortunately it got bent. This product exemplifies the "you get what you pay for" motto. Any of the foreign made bags will have issues with the canvas, zipper, or rigidness quite quickly. You yourself a favor and spend the extra to get real American made quality. You won't be disappointed.
