It would be helpful to know if the bags are made of PET, which can leach antimony at high temps (above 65 deg C, ~ 150 F). In some climates they might reach such high temps . The black color is not helpful. It might help to keep the base of the pots in the shade & water frequently (should help the plants, too) - & don't store the bags in car or garage. **Q: Could you provide me with the measurements of the bags HxW so I can make my choice and how many per pack.** A: Amazon tends to change things, but as of today (4/12/2020), the dimensions are h x d (based on measurements from manufacturer website). In case that changes, the diameter is the unique number and increases before the height: for example the 3, 5 and 7 gal are all 10" high and 9", 12" and 14" in diameter, respectively. Next set are 12" h, etc. **Q: Exactly how many years should I expect these to last?** A: I guess if you clean them out, rinse them well, let them dry and store them away until next season you should expect to get at least 3 years or more. I would not leave them out in the weather all winter. I also found the 5 gallon size a bit small for tomatoes or peppers and have gone to at least 7 gallon size or even 8-10 gallon for those plants. Zucchini and eggplant do great in these fabric pots also, just be prepared to water at least once a day and even more in very hot weather.
