You get what you expect. I ordered two 2x2x12 inch basswood pieces and that is exactly what I received. They are flawless, just as I wanted and expected. I will order more, as soon as I have finished whittling these two pieces down to a nub.

good quality but heavier than expected
The wood was clean and straight and square, but quite a bit heavier than expected. Bass wood is touted as an alternative to balsa, but if you need something very light, don't buy it. I can see it's better for wood carving though.

Low Grade Wood
Giant knots running through both blocks I purchased. Both blocks are anything but “clear”. The description specifically states that these imperfections WOULD NOT be in the product.
