After getting it connected this spring and having it run for a couple of weeks, I turned it off to adjust the filter selection valve and when I turned it back on, the motor hummed but did not run. I opened the motor's back cover and checked that the shaft turned easily, so it wasn't that the impeller was stuck. I then discharged and removed the motor starter capacitor. It was marked as 124-149 uF and measured as 125 uF. While technically "in spec", that made it the likely reason for the motor not starting. I ordered this replacement part, and it came the next day. After a quick install, the motor started right up.
