We purchased this chess set for our son who is 8 years old, and he absolutely loves it. The craftsmanship is excellent, with beautifully detailed pieces and a sturdy, well-made board. It feels durable and perfect for regular play, especially for a young chess enthusiast. The smooth finish and classic design make it both functional and attractive. This set has made learning and playing chess even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for beginners and experienced players alike.

I LOVE THIS CHESSBOARD.. I have quite a few of chessboards, and this one is my absolute favorite!! The detail is so amazing. This was handmade and I have such an appreciation for the quality and attention to detail that was put into the board and each single piece! The carving is so beautiful. I love the clovers on the board, I love the engraving of the letters and the numbers, and I love the wood that was used!! The only POSSIBLE downsides to this board are the pieces and the storage compartment. Yes the pieces are more on the lighter side, but that’s not a problem for me and I actually like it. I find that heavier pieces get kind of annoying to use when you play often, so I love that the pieces are aren’t heavy! And finally the storage compartment! Some people say that the storage compartment is cheap, but I really don’t think that’s true. The storage compartment holds the pieces very well. Ive traveled with this board, and the storage compartment held up very well! The storage compartment is more than capable of holding the pieces well and I have no doubt that it will last forever. Even considering those two possible downsides, this board is still perfect because the detail and quality more than make up for it!! This board changed the entire dynamic of playing chess, it makes my games more interesting and way more fun! I also keep it on display because the board is so beautiful!! This board is definitely for everyone.

I didnt like the cheap green plastic for the pieces and wish the pieces were a little higher quality. The board itself is nice but the rest of it cheapens the whole thing.

It's a decent cheap set. I bought it to teach my wife, all the pieces were there and it stores easily.

Everything about this set spells quality. I read complaints about chess pieces falling out of their storage slot when board is folded. I cut out a matching piece of felt that I lay down over the chess pieces before I fold the board shut. The felt does the trick and keeps everything tight and secure. I suggest the manufacturer adopts this simple fix when shipping these sets and includes the piece of cloth with the set.

I LOVE this chess set! After reading the reviews I wasn’t sure what I would get. Some said the pieces were not weighted enough, others complained the storage compartment was flimsy and others thought the quality of the board itself was inferior. Maybe I just got a perfect set but I have no complaints whatsoever. I think it’s amazing especially for the price. I provided a lot of pics to try to show the quality. The pieces are so nicely detailed and I think the weight is perfect. The board is just beautiful. The board and the pieces all look hand carved. The storage compartment holds the pieces in place. I actually put it on display because it looks so nice.

If I could give this zero stars, I would. The chess set was missing three pieces, two of which were the queens! And, yeah, I could buy some new pieces - but that defeats the purpose of buying this set. Besides all of that, the board itself is damaged and poorly made!! The latches aren't even centered, so in order to close the board you must further damage/bend the latch. Sending this garbage back and getting a refund ASAP.

The chessboard is lightweight material, but the board top has nice rich colours. A nice sized board also. The chess pieces are on the plain side and lighter than I was expecting. Spare Queen pieces would have been nice. Overall, a very serviceable chess set that I will be taking to my community game nights to play against the other GM wannabes.
