Splat the Cat: The Rain Is a Pain (I Can Read Level 1)

This is my three year old daughter's favorite book at bed time. I ask her the same thing what story would you like? Her response, "a Kindle book daddy." so I show her the list of books on my Fire and almost every night out of all the books I have for her this is the one has been her choice.The story is pretty cute and easy for younger readers to follow, but seems to lack the depth of some of the other Splat stories. Well not it's not like I was expecting a children's book to have complexity like say Lord of the Rings, just that this one just a couple sentences per page as others really go into more detail to tell the story. I guess that is typical of most of the 'I can read' Level 1 books. To fill in more we go over the pictures building to the story as I read it to her.In the end my thoughts don't really matter as much as what my daughter thinks about it. She loves it at least for now, and as long as she is happy with the Splat stories I am happy. So it is worth the money for it.

Bought this book for my six year old grandson. He absolutely loves Splat the Cat series of books. So glad I made the purchase.

This like all Splat books gives Splat the character of a young boy. A great book for a beginning reader especially a little guy.

Splat the Cat: I Can Read Level 1 - did not care for this style of writing. Did not keep my niece as interested in listening which she usually is glued to story time. She does like rhymes, but this did not have a flow to keep her interest.

My five year old daughter loves the Splat series and I love having them available on the kindle. It is so convenient to load her favorite stories on the kindle rather than toting around a bunch of easily lost books.

My grandson loves Splat the Cat. He is just learning to read and this is perfect for his age. Wonderful.

grandkids really enjoy Splat the Cat! This book is a great addition to my grandkids' library...great read, awesome illustrations, will definitely read Rob Scotton in the future!

Although my daughter enjoyed the story (we have other Splat the Cat books at home), we downloaded this one while we were out when we had forgotten her reading book. She managed to read it ok, but at 5 & learning to spell, even she noticed that grey was spelled 'wrong'. Not good for teaching reading/spelling to British children. Even favourite had a u missing! Very disappointed, will be wary of learn to read e-books in future.US editions should really be labelled as such at learn to read stage because of the very different spelling conventions.

Not as good as the ones actually written by Rob Scotton but ok

I liked it because it was a bit funny and I would recommend this book to other people. What I did not like about this book is that splat got all the Blaine for everything but otherwise it was very good so well done Rob Scotton

Lovely little book, great pictures, nice story and pitched at just the right level. My four year old enjoyed it.

Good, simple book. The kids enjoyed it and played Splat the next day on the beach - or their version of it.
