Great well-made laptop sleeve that fits a Lenovo Y410P 14-inch laptop; the Case Logic LAPS-114 sleeve is too small for the Y410P
இ Fuzzy Wuzzy's Summary: ѾѾѾѾѾ Highly recommended with warm fuzzies! I bought this for my Lenovo Y410P. The Y410P is slightly chunkier and thicker than many 14-inch laptops, but it fits inside this Case Logic PLS-14 sleeve with a little room to spare. I also considered getting the Case Logic LAPS-114 14-Inch Laptop Sleeve (Black) , but it is smaller and cannot fit the Y410P. Sleeve information for both the PLS-14 and LAPS-114 14-inch sleeves: Lenovo Y410P 14-inch laptop: 13.77"x9.64"x1.29" Case Logic PLS-14: 14.5"x11.25"x1.75" fits a laptop up to 13.5"x10.1"x1.5". Neoprene exterior with suede interior lining. 0.9 pounds. Case Logic LAPS-114: 14.5"x10.5"x1.7" fits a laptop up to 13.5"x9.7"x1.7". EVA foam. 0.42 pounds. Even though both the PLS-14 and LAPS-114 are sized to fit a 13.5"-wide laptop and the Y410P is 13.77" wide, it still easily fits inside the PLS-14 without straining the zipper. However, the 9.64"-depth of my laptop is about a quarter-inch too deep to fit inside the LAPS-114 sleeve. So if you also have a Y410P, this PLS-14 sleeve is the one to get. When I slide the Y410P inside this PLS-14 sleeve and zip it up, about a quarter-inch of space remains along the front and back edge of the laptop. Because the sleeve has rounded corners, my laptop cannot be fully inserted into the rear edge of the sleeve; if it did, there would be a half-inch of empty space along the front zipper edge of the sleeve. So this sleeve does not *perfectly* fit the Y410P, but I would rather have a sleeve that is slightly too large than one that was slightly too small. And perhaps having this extra quarter-inch of space along the front and back edge of the laptop provides for an extra bumper cushion compared to if the laptop's front and back edge were firmly pressed right up against the edges of the sleeve. I always insert laptops into sleeves like these with their rear edge going inside first. Many laptops, including the Y410P, are thicker in the rear where the battery is and thinner along the front edge of the laptop, so it is a little easier to zip up the sleeves when the tapered front edge of the laptop is facing the zipper opening. There are supposedly also blue and gray colors of this PLS-14 sleeve too, but at the time of this review's writing, it seems that only the black color is available, both on Amazon and other online sites. The smaller LAPS-114 is available in five perky colors. This sleeve is advertised as using "asymmetrical" zippers. Asymmetrical zippers were first used on wet suits to keep a tighter seal and let less water in. The exterior of the sleeve is made of neoprene, which is also the material that is used on wet suits, and the interior is lined with a soft suede material. This is not a totally waterproof sleeve since rain and water can soak through the zipper fabric, but if you need to quickly walk across a parking lot during a rainstorm, it will provide enough protection from the water as long as you then take the laptop out and let the sleeve air-dry afterwards. The overall build quality, stitching, seams, and interior lining are high quality. Most laptop sleeves do not give you any storage pockets for carrying accessories, but this sleeve also includes an outer zippered pocket where you can carry accessories such as an external hard disk, small AC adapter, iPhone/iPod, ear bud headphones, cables, etc. Inside the outer pocket is a useful dedicated pocket for holding a USB thumb drive. I would suggest not putting anything too bulky inside this outer pocket since that could exert pressure against the side of your laptop. I sometimes carry my Y410P inside a camera/laptop backpack, and for extra protection, I store the laptop inside this sleeve and then put this sleeve inside the backpack's laptop slot. The padding on this sleeve is typical compared to most laptop sleeves - it will only protect against minor bumps and knocks, but there is not sufficient padding to cushion against dropping the laptop onto a floor or sidewalk. Laptop sleeves are not really meant to be carried frequently by themselves through airports, outdoors, or carried loosely in your hand while you walk around. If you really want good padded protection and room for carrying accessories, get a laptop case instead of a sleeve. For the same reason, shoulder straps and handles are very rare on most laptop sleeve designs; the assumption is that you are mainly carrying the sleeve inside another briefcase, bag, backpack, or luggage. Overall, this is a great sleeve. My one minor quibble is that I wish it had as many color options as the smaller Case Logic LAPS-114 sleeve.

Perfect Protection for my MacBook Pro 13"
I bought this sleeve and the Built brand sleeve to compare for use on my new MacBook Pro 13". This is my review of just "trying them out," not long term usage. I wanted to love the Built (I hate to admit because of it's looks and brand), but it was just a little too tight. Here are some differences: Interior: Caselogic has a liner that is like a fabric faux suede vs Built is just the neoprene with no lining Zipper: They both use plastic teeth zippers. Caselogic has the standard teeth size (think of a zipper on the back of a dress or small purse) vs Built has the extra large teeth (think sleeping bags). Because the Built was so tight, I was afraid of the zipper scratching up my laptop as it was going in or coming out. The Caselogic zipper is across the top (widest part) and 90% down the side (which makes it easier to get in and out) vs the Built is just on the top (widest part). Pockets: Caselogic has a roomy zippered pocket with a small flash drive pocket inside. When my charger is in the pocket & it's zipped up, it's still easy to get my laptop out of the sleeve. The Built sleeve has 3 "slit" pockets of varying sizes. They are tight even without the computer in the sleeve (which is how things get held in since there's no full closure mechanism. The large pocket fit my charger with the cord looped and the loop secured in the top portion of the pocket (the opening of the pocket was in the top portion of the cord loop), the small would fit a flash drive well and the medium one might fit a mouse, but I don't use a separate mouse to be able to try it out. Since the pockets are so tight against the sleeve, it made it even more difficult to get my computer out when the sleeves were full. Looks: The Built wins. I bought both in black and well they're just black. (I didn't want to pay Built's premium pricing for a color and I wasn't too keen on the blue Caselogic). The Built does have the blue underside of the neoprene peek out of the pocket slits and they look kind of cool they way they are arranged. The Caselogic is just basic black with a dark gray zipper and gray Caselogic symbol on the front. Functionality: Caselogic hands down. I am able to get my computer in and out of the sleeve easily, it does it's job of protecting my investment & the pocket is perfect for the charger without affecting the functionality of the sleeve. I will be returning the Built promptly. It's a great sleeve, just not for my MacBook Pro 13".

Great Little Case
This case is exactly just that: A great little case. I bought the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1001P-PU17-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook (Up to 11 Hours of Battery Life) and needed something to protect it, not just throw it my pack and hope it doesn't get scratched. I purchased this case due to all the high marks it received and very low price. As soon as I received it, I opened the case up and took a great big whiff. And not to my surprise, it spelled like nothing. There was no neoprene smell as other people have mentioned. When I placed my 1001P inside, I noticed it was a very snug fit, which is perfect. It zipped up nicely without a hassle. When I felt around the case, there was no extra room inside. The case itself is fairly soft, you can be sure it will not scratch your netbook. There is a front pocket on the outside of the case, accessible by another zipper. It too is very nice, but very small: I can barely get by with putting my charger inside, and when I do, it makes the case appear very bulky. I usually don't put anything in there. There is also a pouch for your flash drive within the external zippered compartment, this is very useful, I like it. I have nothing negative to say about this case, however I do wish that there was a yellow colour scheme for it. I simply prefer bright colours.

Perfect! Great buy
After purchasing a Macbook Pro a few months ago, I wanted a nice sleeve for it without spending gobs of money. This Caselogic sleeve was absolutely perfect! The price is very reasonable, in my opinion, and it fits my Macbook Pro like a glove. It zips easily with a tiny bit of room to spare so that the zipper is not scratching the side of the computer when it closes. It appears to me to be very well made and sturdy. I've been using it almost daily for a few months now and it seems to be going strong. The material on the inside, while not very thick, is soft and will definitely protect against scratches and wear and tear. You could probably find something with a bit more padding, but I think what you're getting for the money here is adequate, at least for my purposes it is! I also really like the little pocket on the side of the sleeve. This is a nice feature. It's very useful for putting a flash drive or any other small accessories. Some folks seem to say that they put their power cords in there too. I have found that mine doesn't fit (the pocket is too small), but regardless, it's still very nice for carting around small accessories (again, like a flash drive) with the laptop. All in all, I love this sleeve. It's well-made, it fits the computer perfectly, and the price is right.

Laptop Sleeve with Pockets Gets All Jobs Done
Purchased this model because it had the external pocket. Not many other models do. I like keeping my power cord handy without having it unravel in my bag or get caught in the zipper. I also thought the USB pocket was genius. Here are some of my notes: 1) I have a Dell Laptop XPS 15 with 15.6" screen - fits inside the sleeve with PLENTY of room to spare (well over an inch of space at the top) 2) The included charger (about 2.5" x 5.5" by 1.5") and cords fit inside the pocket fine. A little bulky sticking along that edge, but no more so than you'd expect from a power cord in any pocket. If you want to keep your power cord protected to - this fits the bill exactly. IMHO the bulge of the charger inside the pocket is smaller and certainly more trim/flat than the charger free-floating. 3) The USB pocket is a great idea. No matter where I am, if I've got my laptop in its sleeve, I've got a USB stick too. Other people might keep them on key chains or briefcases. I don't like bulky keys and I don't have a briefcase. My backpack is also infamous for eating USB drives... So this pocket is great for me. Only downsides: The pocket is a bit too long for my flash drive (Cruzer SB), so the drive gets crammed in the far side of the pocket and I have to dig with my fingers to pull it within reach of the hole. It will also probably not accommodate oddly shaped flash drives, novelty flash drives, etc. 4) The padding is adequate for the job. Very easy to slide the laptop in and out, the zipper is sturdy and standard. If you're looking for something that you could drop on the ground and your laptop would be OK - this probably isn't it. Get something hard sided or with more than 1/4" of padding. But for everyday jostling, bumping, rubbing, etc. inside a backpack or other bag, this does fine. In summary, this product is like a hug for your laptop. It makes your laptop feel better and it gives you a few extras, too.

Perfect! (Still love it - June 2012)
I have an older MacBook 13.3". Harder to find accessories, but, after much research time I selected this Case Logic for more protective transport than just putting into my rolling bag's computer area. I love, love, LOVE it! Plus, as an added surprise, there's a neat little pocket area for a flash drive in the outer "power pocket". How cool is that? PROS: Zippered area is protected by the inner material so your laptop doesn't get scratched. (Zippers were a CON on many other cases.) Nice padding. Great outer "power" pocket! Just fits! Nice padding. Easy insertion & removal of laptop. CONS: If you're a fashion guru "plain black" may not be your thing, but, it's a case that does the job...and does it well! NOTE: Amazon listed measurements are OUTER measurements, so if you're trying to fit a laptop that's not a MacBook 13.3" (diagonal) monitor--which is how the laptops are measured--better measure your laptop before buying. My laptop is approx. 12 7/8" by 8 3/4" and it fits snug as a bug with no stretching out of shape. Case inner meas. are 12 7/8" by 10" and not quite 1 in. thick. UPDATE: Here it is, June 2012, and I still love this laptop case!!! Zippers still strong. Looks almost brand new. I keep the big, honkin' Mac adapter, ear plug headsets, and a USB cable in the pouch. (I've even put my ipod there on occasion, but I think that might not be good as a norm. I mean, it does stretch, but I don't want to press my luck.) UPDATE: 2013 July-- I've now upgraded my laptop and bought a cheap nylon type carrier with a handle that also houses my iPad and cables when I travel. I do still use the old one reviewed here for the old MacBook. This sleeve was such a great buy!

Fits comfortably with a ThinkPad T420
I was looking for a laptop sleeve to go along with my ThinkPad T420. I wanted something that could give my ThinkPad a little more protection and padding when carrying the laptop in my backpack. I was thinking about purchasing the 15.4-16" sleeve because I have the bigger 9 cell battery which sticks out the back of the laptop a little bit. I didn't want the sleeve to fit too tightly. I then found another reviewer who had a ThinkPad with the bigger battery and the 14.1" sleeve worked perfectly for them, so I went ahead with the 14.1" sleeve. Upon opening the box, I could already tell this sleeve was made with quality. On the outside, there is a zippered pouch that is made of somewhat stretchy material where you can store your laptop charger, iPod, phone, keys, or whatever else. Also within that zippered pouch, there is a small slot for a flash drive. I probably won't use these pouches as I just store that stuff in the backpack itself. The main zipper on the sleeve zips around the top and right side to give entrance to the main laptop compartment. The inside of the sleeve has a thick, soft suede fabric on the top and bottom, which will ensure no scratching to laptop bodies. The sleeve has about a quarter of an inch of padding on all edges to give even more protection to laptops. When I tried slipping my laptop into the sleeve, I manged to get it in without much effort at all. Once in, the zipper went around the laptop and 9 cell battery just perfectly. There is still a little room to breathe. The sleeve fits like a glove around my laptop. I would recommend this sleeve to anyone with a 14" laptop.

Pochette extra
Une pochette résistante qui fait très bien son office. La poche de devant est un vrai plus (il y a même un petit rangement pour une clé usb). Le seul bémol, celle-ci est trop petite si l'on veut y ranger le chargeur et une souris, même en petit modèle.
