Essentials 24 Inch Towel Bar, Brushed Cool Sunrise

Like other Grohe products that I have purchased, I am very happy with the quality and design of the installed product. However the installation is unnecessarily difficult because of bad design of the anchor bolts.The sleeves for the drywall anchor bolts have no lip on them (see picture). So when you slid them in the wall and push the screw into it, they push through the wall. If they had a small lip on them this would not happen. Since I was using a 15/64 drill bit (ever-so-slightly smaller than the 6 mm recommended), I know the problem was NOT that the holes that I was drilling were too big.I compensated for this by very gently screwing in the screws for a few turns so that the plastic sleeves expand a little before applying much pressure. A pair of these were not cooperating with this method so I had to grasp the sleeves with some needle nose plyers to allow the screw to go in a few rotations so that the sleeve was set. But this should not be necessary.

I have installed several brands of bathroom accessories over the past 24 years and have always found Grohe to be the highest quality. The fastener process is designed for accuracy by having an adhesive strip that allows for accurate placement of the accessory and placement of the screws. Please be aware the towel bar is a bit shallow, meaning if you have really thick towels that are wet, your wall will get wet also. I recommend sizing the towel bar so the length doesn’t require the towel to be folded onto itself over the bar.

Bought 2 of them. I thought they would be better quality in this price range. Extremely disappointed in the overall quality and was a hassle to install. I couldn't get the screws tightened because the anchors didn't work. I'm going to try one more time to install it with different anchors, but I don't like how the inner parts are also made out of plastic. It probably wont last so I'll be looking for something else.

Easy to install. Per other reviews, I used different wall anchors which required drilling and placement before applying the sticker back piece to the wall. I can see how the anchors provided would go straight into the wall because they do not have a lip to catch on the wall. I measured several times and then marked the holes, drilled, put the anchors in flush to the wall and applied the sticker back circle piece. I (the wife) did it all myself. So it’s easy. You’ll need a 1/4” drill bit which is the closest to 6mm.

This towel bar matches the Grohe faucets and shower heads that are already in my master and guest baths. They are simple and sleek, exactly the look I wanted at a great price.

Excellent Grohe product but very difficult to fit a towel between the bar an the wall. Needs to project out another 1/2".

Pretty easy to install, but be careful not to push the wall anchors too far into the drywall ... they just fall into the wall space never to be seen again.This hardware is just what I hoped for. Quality finish, solid feel, and good style. It's worth the money and trouble.

Pulled this out of the box and was excited that it appeared to be just what I was looking for. Sleek, contemporary, seems to be good quality. Unfortunately, Grohe has stamped their logo on the top of the right bracket. I don't mind branding on the shower mixer cover, but it's tacky on the rest of the bath hardware. Bad choice Grohe. Returning.

The depth is too shallow for a normal bath towel to drape and dry
