Oktoberfest here I come!!!Beer, Brats and Spaetzle are on the menu this weekend!I had a ricer that I tried many times to make spaetzle and the holes were too small, it 'gooshed' out the sides and top and created more of a mess than a dish.This is perfect. The slider box moves smoothly across the grater in its track.The entire thing comes apart to be washed ( I don't recommend the dishwasher)This has a double 'lip' on the end so that you can rest it on your pot while you 'grate' your spaetzle dough/batter into the boiling broth (or beer, if that's how you roll!)Very happy with this super high quality unit!

Bought this a year ago and have made spaetzle with it several times. Always hand washed never put in the dishwasher. I was skeptical of how long it would last based on the flimsy stamped metal. The plastic sliding dough holder was loose in the track. A lot of the dough would seep out the sides. The last two times I used it the plastic handle separated from the holder. It is only held in with two small plastic notches. They wore out and now it’s junk. I threw it away and ordered a press instead. Cost more for the press but no plastic parts to break.

I love Spaetzle but never liked the hassle of making it until I got this wonderful kitchen tool. It is so easy to use! I got one for my best friend as a gift, and she loves it, too. If you are a fan of German food but don't like the chore of using a colander or other makeshift tool, this Spaetzle-maker is for you.

Very pleased with this. Easy to use, easy to clean IF you wash it immediately. If you leave the spaetzle batter set for any length of time cleaning becomes a chore. Spaetzle is so easy to make that you can whip up a quick batch any night of the week for a quick slide dish. Drizzle hot spaetzle with a little butter and sprinkle with toasted bread crumbs and finely chopped chives and you have the perfect side dish for any meat or vegetable. I like to serve it with roasted cabbage and carrots for a tasty and filling meatless meal. I'm very glad I FINALLY purchased a real spaetzle maker!

This is probably the messiest kitchen product I have ever used. lol It was hard to keep the batter in the maker and push it at the right rate; the tool kept falling apart. But after some practice I got it down. It cleans up well and looks to be of good quality. I hope it lasts! ~S.

This was super easy to use, as long as you have the proper consistency of the spaetzle dough. There are easy to find videos online covering all aspects of spaetzle making. It was a fun new thing to play with in the kitchen, and dinner was delicious!

Simple to use, and works perfectly. And costs so little.I love food, all kinds of food. I don't remember ever having Spaetzle, but when my daughter suggested getting some pre-made as it was delicious, I decided to try my hand at making it. It's easy, and great in a number of ways. Small grandkids loved it.

This spaetzle maker worked perfectly - I like the way it hooks on my pot. It cuts through the dough easily forming perfect little spaetzles. It's easy to clean, as long as you clean it right after using it....after all, you're working with raw dough and, as everyone knows, dough hardens if left to sit. I simply rinse it with hot water and dry it after every use. I'm pleased.

Excellent product. Smooth operation and good addition to my kitchen full of gadgets.

The plastic handle came off while I was using it for the first time. I would not recommend this product.

I did not like it. I find it hard to use. The actual amount of space that you have to work with the dough is not a lot and the drops of dough kept falling over the sides of the pot.
