GP Xtreme 194 168 2825 2821 W3W W5W Silver Chrome Stealth Amber Light Bulbs for Map Dome Meter Gauge License Plate Side Marker Turn Signal Thunder - Pack of 2

Installed these chromed bulbs because I also installed clear side marker lens but wanted to prevent the fried egg look. The clear lens lets through more light so the end result is bright enough even if the bulbs are slightly dimmer than the stock ones which were clear incandescents. Time will tell whether these bulbs can last since it’s only been a couple of days.

Pretty good overall. I was expecting dim bulbs based on the other reviews, but output is decent using clear sidemarkers. A few minor complaints:1) The amber color is slightly lighter than expected. Just a shade or two lighter than the OEM setup (clear halogen bulbs in amber sidemarkers), but nothing major.2) The back of the packaging describes these as LEDs, but as far as I can tell, these are just plain halogens. In any event, I didn't get any error codes when using them in my GTI.Overall pretty happy with these. If these have a decent lifespan, I'll buy another set if/when the time comes.

Love the bulbs. Personally, I'm not a fan of LED bulbs--too jarringly bright, imho--so, these are perfect for my taste. They disappear in the daytime, eliminating the 'egg yolk' effect of the bezels. At night, they are what I would call a 'smoky' deep amber color, almost orange-y. I really like the color.No, they aren't as bright as regular amber bulbs, but that's fine with me. Time will tell if they last as long as regular 194 bulbs, but I like them well enough to get spares ordered soon, so I'll have them when they do go out.

8/16/2016 UPDATE: 3 to 2 star. 2 things I noticed since I have installed them. 1) They would blink really slow in comparison with the relay sound inside the car. It's almost as if the filament inside the bulb would take longer to warm up. 2) (Not sure if related to the slow blink problem) The bulbs seem to eventually affect my parking lights (l.e.d. parking lights installed). My parking lights would flicker with in synchronous with the blinkers or hazards. After I switched back to O.E.M style bulbs, both observations seemed to clear up. Would not buy again.I did not receive "GP Thunder" brand. I got "Diesel" brand from the . The brightness is significantly different than OEM. If I were to give it a percentage of brightness compared to OEM, I would say the "Diesel" brand is about 20-25% less bright versus OEM. With these being less bright I would not recommend them if your vehicle has to pass an annual safety inspection. I'm still going to use them, but I'm going to keep my OEM bulbs just in case.

GP Thunder bulbs are brighter than the competition. My otiginal bulbs look yellow orange compared to these bright orange bulbs. Love the silver finish, you don't notice the bulb through clear lenses. My side markers are European white, rather than orange. These bulbs I don't even notice until my lights are turned on, then they shine extra bright!

When work great and seem to last a long time. Doesn't throw codes on my Mercedes so happy about that.

Prevents amber color reflection on surrounding chrome background when not lit. Remains "hidden" until the light is turned on. Gives any lamp housing a clean uniform look.

Bought these for my Fiesta mk6 to eliminate the yellow yolk effect, for this reason they work 100%. However, they aren't as bright as the stock clear globes, but they get the job done. Very pleased with purchase!
