Review: Silky and natural looking but Raining Rubies is Defective - The colors Rose and Slay, and Jam with Me are great colors if you're looking for a more natural look. I usually prefer burgundy and berry colored lipsticks, but sometimes I want a laid back natural look and these are perfect. While Rose and Slay is more of a lighter mauve color, Jam with Me is a bit darker, but still natural in color so long as you don't put on multiple layers. You would never know it would last so long considering how easily it glided on my lips and how soft and silky it felt. Con: While Raining Rubies has turned out to be one of my favorite colors, I won't be buying it again. The first time I used the lipstick, I noticed the casing was cutting deep into the lipstick when I was lowering the lipstick to close the casing. Fortunately, desertcart let me return it for a replacement. The same thing happened with the replacement lipstick, only it wasn't cutting as deep into the lipstick this time. I ended up buying a lipstick brush, but now it takes me forever to put on my lipstick. It's a good thing I have other colors like Blind Date which is another of my favorites. Review: This lipstick met all my expectations - Why I Purchased I purchased this lipstick because I love the color pink, and also because it was under $3. I already owned 2 other lipsticks (not from Wet n Wild), but they were worn out to the very last bit left of them. The Packaging The packaging to me is gorgeous. It comes in a white tube with a beautiful petal finish. It also has a cute lip design on the front of the lipstick. I love how real effort is put in to the packaging of the lipstick. The lipstick is a must have for the top of your beauty/ makeup display. The Color The shade Pinky Ring is a beautiful bright pink color. It gives off a high shiny finish, which the name suggests, and it looks flattering on the lips. I would not recommend the lipstick for performing though, because if you want your lipstick to show in the light, then I would suggest to get a darker color of these lipsticks. The lipstick looks amazing with a light pink blush and a brown shimmering eyeshadow. The Texture The texture is a 10/10 . I love how after the first glide, the color is amped up and rich. As soon as I put it on for the first time, I noticed it didn’t have a sticky and yucky feeling. Mostly a get that feeling from lip mousses and liquid lipsticks, but I did get that feeling from other brands. It also does not cling on to dry patches on the lips. Really lovely. I love the creaminess of the product. However, as others noted, it gets mushy very quickly and the formulation is not stable. I would not say that it melts, but the stick is so fragile and gets messy. Otherwise, the white body containing the lipstick is lovely (not the case all the time for this brand).
