No need to screw hose attachment into window frame as some do! Runs very well!
I like that the unit extension fits into the window without having to screw into my window frame as I have seen with other makers. Also, the unit runs very well. Very nice fan, that itself cools a room. The A/C part is quite good, easily cools 15'x12' bedroom that has 3 windows. I am very pleased. In addition, the unit, due to the carrier, had broken a caster wheel in handling the unit. SHINCO simply asked for a photo of the damaged caster etc. and via email arranged for a FED EX delivery of a new caster. I am super pleased with the unit and SHINCO's customer service. I chose the right unit for a reasonable price. Addendum: I see like happened to me others noted the exhaust hose came off or loose. I found the solution as once I clicked in the exhaust hose on the unit, I then twisted the entire exhaust hose within its plastic cap prior to placing it in the window, it tightened it and no further issue of it coming loose. Also, as far as placing the exhaust unit in the window, once clicked in the 'window sealing plate' it wasn't firmly staying in place; I noticed the two small screw holes in the window attachment given (one small screw came in the pkg) and once I expanded the plastic sealing plate into my window I used an awl (ice pick) to punction a dent into the 'window sealing plate, where I then screwed in screws (used a couple drywall screws). My unit is firmly in place. One more thing: I keep my drain hose connected at all times as I see the unit produced a copious amount of water either with A/C or 'Dry' (Humidifier). (I live next to an ocean bay, with heavy humidity this year) It seems the 'DRY' mode is really a low A/C set at 62 and stays automatically on a low fan. I would buy again, and I did so recently at 8000BTU for another room. Amazed how much water is produced, so must keep a watchful eye or use more than a 1 gallon container for an 8 hr. period with the present weather.

Affordable, easy setup, does the job
I'm very happy 😊 that I bought this A/C so much easier than trying to put in the window version works very well

Portable Air Conditioner
I'm impressed with the performance of this portable air conditioner, but there is one major drawback - it's quite loud! Despite this, it does a great job of cooling my small to medium-sized room. The 10,000 BTU capacity is sufficient for my needs, and it's easy to set up and operate. The remote control is also convenient. The unit is a bit bulky, but it's easy to move around when needed. The exhaust hose is a bit short, but that's a common issue with portable ACs. Overall, I'd recommend this unit to anyone looking for a reliable and effective portable AC, just be aware that it may be noisier than expected.

Wonderful!
This air conditioner is exactly what I needed. It's able to cool off a 3 room area with no issues. The air is VERY COLD. When it's turned off, it reads the ambient temperature and the vent closes to prevent anything getting inside. When you start it, the front vent opens itself to begin operation. It uses a regular 3 prong grounded wall outlet. It comes with a remote and has various setting options, including an option for the vent to move back and forth for more cool air circulation. Oh, and the handles are located on the sides about 10 inches from the top(found this out the hard way when trying to remove from the box). But there's no need to lift it out the box. When you cut the cording holding the box together, the top cardboard should just lift right off. I use mine in a horizontal sliding window. I bought a fabric hose window cover separately on Amazon. While it isn't necessarily made for this particular style of window, it can be adjusted with gorilla tape(pictured) or regular duct tape. It holds onto thevwindow with tiny strips of removable velcro that was included. Took me 5 minutes to put it up. There were only two things that I noticed that could be an issue for someone. First, just know that this has a window vent hose that is at least 6 to 7 inches wide. That's huge, especially since you're not supposed to operate it with any major bends in the hose. The 2nd issue is that the hose itself is very fragile. I popped mine away from the back of the unit, twice, just adjusting it's direction. The good news is that you can pop it right back into the clamp securely with your hands or add duct tape to fully secure it to the locking clamp.

Unit is unsafe and manufacturer ignores emails for warranty
I purchased my Shinco air conditioner in March 2021 and began using it late May. Initially, for a few weeks, the unit worked fine - it was a little louder than I expected, but it did its job and cooled the room. However, one day I came home from work and the unit was running the compressor, but no fan. The temperature on the LCD read 95. The unit was hot to the touch and it was clear it had been running like this for a while. I turned it off and on again and it seemed to work normally again, blowing cold air. A few days later, I woke up to the unit doing the same thing again. It was running the compressor, but the fan was not running. I left it in this state for about 10 minutes to see if anything would change and it continued to stay in this malfunctioning state. The LCD had climbed up from 70, to 80, to 85 before I shut it off again. At this point, I couldn't trust the air conditioner to run unattended. I attempted to contact the manufacturer, explained the issue, and they initially told me there appeared to be something wrong with the "electric control" of the air conditioner. At this point, the unit seemed to be OK, so I let it be for a a week or two and it seemed to be fine. However, I caught it doing the same thing again and figured enough was enough. The unit is a liability if I wanted to run it unattended for my pets while I was away from home. I emailed their support once more and they told me the behavior I described again was "normal" and that the compressor was simply running in "standby mode". I emailed them again with the same video I left in this review and that's when the manufacturer ceased responding to my emails. I emailed them several times over the course of two weeks and never got another response. The manufacturer claims a 1-year warranty and a response within 24 hours. That is clearly not the case. I had to open a support case with Amazon and beg them to allow me to return this item out of the return window, after which I had to eat a significant restocking fee. Avoid this product and avoid anything made by Shinco or their parent company, YOAU Electric Co.,Ltd. The warranty situation is clearly a mess and it is simply not worth the risk for such an expensive and bulky item purchased online. Look elsewhere.

Unit blowing warm air
Works for about a year. After storing it after summer and the using it again the next summer, plugged it in and got nothing but warm air. Called a technician and he said there probably was a refrigerant leak. Not much you can do except price compare between and new unit and calling it in to get it repaired!! Ugh, I was really looking forward to using it too.

Update on customer service
Update: Seller responded and offered a full refund, they were great about it. Finally found someone to help me lift it up and get it plugged in, worked great for 2 weeks now it shuts down and gives me an E5 code which is not in the manual. I really really liked it up until then. Now I don't have AC and I'm a few days past my return date, that's because I needed help getting it out of the damaged box and up on the cabinet. I wasn't bothered by the damaged box but now I'm bothered because I don't have AC.

it blows COLD!
This ac blows some icy air! I love it! Keeps my room (which is fairly large) nice and cool. I like that you can angle the vent higher or lower for whatever you need. There are 3 fan speeds and you can switch it between fan only, AC, or dry (to dehumidify the air). It is not really movable because you have to have it by a window in order for the exhaust hose to connect to the window. Doesnt bother me but the product video makes it look like you can just roll it around the room which you really cannot do. My only complaint is that at night, I like a fan to be blowing no matter what while I sleep. If you have it on the AC setting, when it reaches temp, the whole unit turns off instead of just continuing to blow the fan. The silence wakes me up because Im used to sleeping with fan noise. I wish I knew how to change this.

Quiet and easy to love around
Bought this for our daughter’s apartment, she is very happy with it! Easy to use, climate control. Her dad fit it into her window very easily. We would buy it again
