It took a while to get this to work with my pixel 3 but I finally figured it out. This microphone is NOT any better than your built in phone mic when trying to capture music being played. It made the recording slightly louder but gave it a distorted sound.Where this product does do well is voice recording when the person speaking is 1 to 3 feet away. The sound isn’t studio level, but it’s plenty good enough for my purposes. I can imagine that folks using it for voice recording would be really pleased. Easy to set up. Didn’t even need the instructions. Couple things though: Be sure that you have the headphone jack adapter. Also, the smartphone mount (the piece that holds your phone) can not open wide enough to receive an iPhone X that is fitted with an Otterbox protective cover. Fortunately. I have another piece of equipment that I was able to switch out. This was my problem, though, and not the manufacturer. It’s an easy 5-star rating, but I did have to finagle a bit.
