Set of 5 Panacea 82172 Mission Trellises, Black, 78" H Each

I used these to improve privacy around a sunken rock seating area (used to be a dilapidated pond, it's a work in progress). Even though it's been hovering around 90 degrees F this summer, both my rose and grape are climbing without burns from the metal. They get five to seven hours of direct sun. My yard is sandy, so I didn't have to dig (!), I just stood on the center bottom rail and they slid in like butter and haven't shifted. That felt miraculous. These do look like the welds might rust over time, so I plan to pull them out in fall and clear coat with spray paint. A more patient person might have done that before installing them, ahem, but despite humidity over 75%, no rust yet. For refence, my shovel will rust overnight here if left out, but these have been installed 4 weeks. There is an obvious front and back, with a folded texture on the back side, so I just pointed that back side towards the neighbors. It's difficult to notice from a distance unless the light is really glancing off the finish. I included a picture from the back side for comparison.

The trellis set of 5 came with no assembly required, just put it in the ground and go. The panels are not flimsy at all, no bending. And I love the crown molding look at the top of each panel. Love!

I very much like that the legs on these trellises, at 15”, make it possible for them to actually be free standing with no additional support. It took me a while to hand dig the holes deep enough and get them positioned where needed. Once dug it was pretty easy to level the trellises backfilling with all the rocks I dug out and then really packing the dirt back in. They are now level, positioned where I need them and very sturdy. As a privacy screen I hung 10 clear glass plates weighing about 10 lbs and the trellis does not move.When the legs are sunk the whole 15” of course that means there is 63” of trellis above ground.I disliked that they are packaged in sets of 5. Hard to imagine who would need 5 of these but I was willing to pay the extra price because they were the only ones I could find with legs that long. I’ll find something else to do with the other trellises or give them away.

I needed nice looking, sturdy trellises to replace wooden ones that were falling apart. We have a Craftsman house, so the mission style was perfect for us. The trellises are well made and were a great price.
