Beautiful but a bit uninspired/basic
Let me start off by saying I love Chip and Jo, have seen every episode of Fixer Upper, have traveled to Waco and soaked up every aspect of what they have done there so I really wanted to absolutely love this but it just missed the mark for me. I just received it today and immediately spent an hour flipping through it checking out every recipe. I think I'm a decent cook and I felt like a lot of the recipes were either too basic or just things I've seen before countless times. There are maybe 5-10 recipes that are something new to me. The photography is beautiful, there is a picture for almost every recipe, and I love the little anecdotes throughout, I just think this is more for a beginner cook, or someone that likes to just collect everything Chip and Jo do. I did enjoy the dessert section, there were definitely some beautiful treats that I am looking forward to trying!

Filler cookbook and feels very impersonal unlike the first. Also they do not turn out right
I have looked through it 3 times now and still really disappointed. Looks like a bunch of filler recipes to sell another cookbook. I have loved the first one and had high expectations for this one. None of the soups in this book look good at all. Seem like many of these Jo has not or would not serve her family. I have made the bread 3 times now and it was only after I had the change the ingredients does it turn out. Many of the recipes in this cookbook are just INCORRECT! Also made the oatmeal pies and they are FLAT, and this is after chilling the cookie sheets. Many of these recipes are not accurate. I had no issues with the recipes in the first cookbook.

Silo Cookies
Made the Silo's cookies first. I cut the recipe in half And they taste amazing! I was going to stop there but the girls wanted pasta. I made Jo’s Marinara which was very tasty and easy. I made angel hair pasta with shrimp scampi. It. Was. Amazing!!! We made Garlic Knot rolls and Braided Loaf and paired with garlic, parsley, and sun dried tomato butter. For Mother’s Day we cooked the roasted chicken but put it in the smoker. We baked and handed out the pound cake. The lentil soup with focaccia was amazing. We used lamb instead of ham and shared half. Kids 8 & 3 loved the Ranchers breakfast. Our sitter devoured the blueberry sweet rolls and we never see her eat 😆. Brownies are decadent and worth sharing. Salad Nicoise was a healthy and flavorful dish for two nights. This book to replace all other cookbooks.

Great cookbook!
I loved the first book, but was disappointed with a lot of processed ingredients in some of the recipes. Joanna and her team stepped up their game for this book with amazing looking results. I cannot wait to make all of the recipes in this book!

A Stellar Cookbook!
An excellent collection of recipes. This is the antidote to sheltering in place!

Large cook book
Wow! This made her first cook book look small and has a large amount of awesome recipes especially “traditional” ones for holidays that are more unique. Came clean and good. Highly recommend!

This second Magnolia cookbook is as great as the first. Joanna's collection of home family recipes are delicious for large or small families. I can't wait to try more recipes! Thanks!!!

A must have recipe book for family gatherings
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This book is amazing!!inrelaly enjoyed her first one but this book explores to a different level. What I love is that there is a little of everything!! Joanna shares many wonderful recipes with little twists and notes for replacements but what I love most is the ingredients are common ingredients we have or have easy access to. My family of 6 are loving the recipes this momma is bringing to the table ♥️

Desert section is the best part
I'm a big fan of Chip and Jo, especially their Fixer Upper show, spent 1 week vacation in Waco to further experience the work they do... I have the first cookbook (which is more soups and comfort food) So naturally I was very much looking forward to the 2nd volume. I've had it for 2 months now and have enjoyed several recipes ("silk pie" was a crowd pleaser) but overall I find the recipes not as appealing and some of which are rather basic. There are maybe 10 recipes that I'm glad I have... Little dissapointing but I'm still glad I have it - it's a beautiful cook book with great pictures for almost every recipe. I'd say it's more a beginner cookbook and great to have if your a fan of the brand. By far the desert section is the best part of it (again... Check out that silk pie)
