Helen Palmer is an Incredible Enneagram Authority - But Try Another of Her Books Instead!
While I have enjoyed all of Helen Palmer's enneagram books - this was a bit short and rudimentary even for a 'pocket' or abbreviated text. I found that with this shortened format, it did not provide enough context or depth to get much useful information. For those who don't like reading long texts, they might prefer her Audiobook version - available now on Audible. Hearing (vs. reading) spoken descriptions of the different types, and with the added benefit of including numerous anecdotal excerpts from real people who share a particular enneagram 'space' or 'type' and whom are sharing insights from their own perspective is in my opinion a far easier, and better way to get immersed in the enneagram. Having read many books from a wide range of enneagram authors, I really enjoyed The Enneagram (written and narrated by Helen Palmer) on Audible and go back to it from time to time as both a valuable reference tool as well as a source of ever new realizations.

Enneagram wisdom has changed my life for the better!
The Enneagram is a multifaceted system to understand motivations of self and others. Having this concise, portable booklet with me offers opportunities to refresh my understanding of human behavior so I can respond more effectively no matter where I am or what I am doing. Thank you, Helen Palmer!

Too esoteric
I have used the Enneagram as a therapist since 1986 and collect most of the books as references. Palmer is great but I found this little book heavy on the philosophical/abstract side of the spectrum. Valid material, but why make a pocket size book for the intellectuals? I doubt if they take it parties to discuss with their friends, or maybe they do. I consider Palmer's other works primary to understanding the Enneagram.

Good and useful short treatise
Good and useful short treatise. Very familiar with Enneagram. In its own way, as helpful as Otto Kroger's "Type Talk" classic on the Meyers Briggs assessment tool.

Not that helpful
Was recommended to read some of Palmer's work for a class. This didn't exactly cut it. I was told that she was very thoughtful and that the Ennegram would guide my life. Instead this truncated version left me confused.

I am what I am
Mikkenials seemed to refer to this in lieu of Meyers Briggs analysis so I decided to take the quiz. 3 is my favorite number so before realizing what that even meant, I took an online quiz. A 2! Close enough. After reading this book, I am indeed a solid two. Very few characteristics from one of three apply. I know 3's. This book helped me understand them a little better. I need my husband to go take the quiz. The book is more useful when you can apply it to yourself and people you know. So, I recommend taking an online quiz prior to reading the book.

Interesting
An interesting fly-past of the enneagram though am left wondering if I will ever get to grips with the material. Would need further book/material to understand enneagram model enough to be able to make use of it as a helpful tool for spiritual and psychological growth.
