A great console cable for network kit
What a game changer for us network nerds!! Although a little sceptical at first, it worked first time, no drivers on a Mac and a faultless connection.This is an awesome addition to ‘must have’ network tools. Saves all the grief of adaptors of the past.

Good Quality Product
I found that the quality of this product is quite good and worked seamlessly on my 15-inch Macbook Pro using Big Sur v11.2.3.This device shown up under /dev/*usb* in seconds and was able to screen into a console connection of some Cisco Routers, glad I do not need to keep buying multiple connectors / converters for these routers.It also came in a nice small antistatic bag with an RJ45 connector cover.

Does Not Work on MacBook Pro
Tried two different MacBook Pros and one MacBook Air and this fails to show in Network settings.

Perfect.
Uses a legitimate FTDI chip so absolutely no driver issues. Was plug and play on my Windows 11 laptop and so far has been perfect for accessing consoles on HPE/Aruba, Cisco, Cisco small business, and Juniper switches.

Low profile plug and ribbon cable.
This is the right size to site alongside other usb devices.On a MacBook, a fat usb plug will block the use of adjacent sockets. This is just the right size and the ribbon cable saves spacem

Small neat and works as expected
Worked perfectly on my Mac without drivers or fuss.Small and neat so drops into your bag easily. Much neater solution than a older USB 2.0 to serial with all the cables and dongles required

Gets dangerously hot when laptop is not plugged in AC
Quite an unpleasant buy ! They get dangerously hot when plugged in a laptop and when that laptop is not plugged in AC power adapter...It took me a while to realize this defect and I literally burnt myself trying to unplug it.I bought 2 of them in the same order and the two behave exactly the same. I also tested on two different laptops with the exact same results: It will burn itself when plugged in a laptop that is not plugged in AC... I did not wait to see if it would destroy itself or damage my laptops.It takes around 2 to 5 minutes to become hot enough to be considered as a risk.The laptops I used are: Lenovo Thinkpad T590 & Lenovo Yoga Slim 7, Intel 8th gen & AMD 4000 series. No idea on the usb chipset they ultimately use but a usb device shouldn't behave like this either way.This product is therefore a huge hazard risk, don't make the same mistake I did.
