If you are using an electric drill ice auger you need one of these.
This extension makes it so you can drill thick ice with a drill driven auger. It would be nice if it came with a drill chuck adapter which I had to purchase separately. It is easy to assemble and disassemble for storage and transport. I use it on my DeWalt XR drill with the stabilizing handle and a Strikemaster 6" Lazer ice auger. It makes drilling safer and less strain on my back. Goodbye to gas driven augers.

You need this for the Clam Ice Auger Conversion Kit
If you have a strike master auger and the Clam Ice Auger Conversion Kit you NEED to get this too. You need to have at least one of these or the Clam Ice Auger Conversion Kit makes the auger too short to be comfortable (I am 6 feet tall so it might not be so bad if you are shorter). You might need more than one of you have more than a couple of feet of ice to drill.

Perfect fit!
I bought this for my new CLAM ice auger conversion kit to extend the bit for a little more depth and it worked out very nicely! It adapted to the hand auger bit per and conversion kit perfectly. The extension raised the clam ice auger conversion to a more comfortable starting position so I use my upper body more then my lower back. I was able to buzz holes through 18" of ice no problem and didn't even have to bend over to git'r done! I would buy this product again.
