Anne of Green Gables Storybook: A BabyLit Storybook Hardcover – Picture Book, October 9, 2018

This is a beautiful book bought one for my daughter then another for my niece. Such a great gift.

This was a baby shower gift for a mom whose favorite book is Anne of Green Gables. The illustrations are so cute! It’s pretty word-y so I think it will be more of a novelty item unless it’s gifted to a child who can actually read. It’s a lot bigger than the BabyLit primer board books, too which is great since there’s so much text and great detail to all the pictures.

Let me start by saying that I am obsessed with BabyLit and have already started quite a collection for my daughter. This is the third storybook I've gotten: the illustrations are wonderful. The main plot points are all there, and all the major characters. As a children's abridged version, though, almost all of Anne's speeches are eliminated, which makes it read more like a bulleted list of events than a story, but that's to be expected. Definitely still worth purchasing for any parent who loves Anne and her adventures.

The book content is great! The artwork is fantastic! I’m just disappointed because it fame damaged. I know I can return it but when you have kids and a busy schedule it’s such a hassle and there is no option for a replacement so I would have to buy it again and I had bought it during a sale.

Nice book to read for 3-5 year olds. Nice art work too. The book summarized some events in the novel, including Matthew dying. 😭
