This alarm was the perfect solution for me. I wanted to feel safer running alone but was hesitant to carry anything like mace. It is small and clips securely to my clothes. I didn't notice it at all on my run. It makes a loud enough that I'm sure it would get someone's attention. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

I’ve run with the Nathan Personal Alarm Ripcord a few times. It is very lightweight so you don’t notice it while running. I’ve clipped it to my running belt and to my shirt neckline and it doesn’t bother me in either location. The clip is stiff so it stays put wherever you use it. I haven’t tried to actually pull the alarm yet as there isn’t a good place to test out an alarm that loud!

It's not that loud, as many reviewers had said. They were right! I expected a deafening sound when I tested it inside the house. It was loud. But not so loud you felt you needed to immediately shut it off. Totally bearable. The belt clip doesn't hinge open as you'd think it would. You have to pry it open with your fingers to slide it onto your clothes. I do like that it is easy to sound and easy to stop. I do like that it's small and lightweight. Thinking that my running is mostly in a neighborhood, so the sound is fine with houses close by.

I have had this for about 2 weeks. the first week i tried it out a few times to test the sound. it was good and loud. but i went to show my friends, and it sounded like a baby bird was chirping (not loud) . well, i emailed the seller here, no response. SO, i wore it a few more times. And today i went to try it out again and just baby bird chirping sounds. I have it recorded and sent it to Nathan the company, no response yet. this this is a safety item, you dont want this working 99% of the time, you want it to work 100% of the time. Sadly this only works not even 50% of the time.

Great product! I was concerned that the Ripcord would come completely out (because I lose things easily) when needing to sound the alarm but it stays attached. I use it for a running by myself at night. I’m thinking about getting more for my kids to use for stranger danger.

It's quieter than expected, but I think would still surprise an attacker or an animal if you're able to hold it near their face. I like the clip feature, which makes it easy to just have on me - seems better than a louder device that I don't have on me because it's uncomfortable to carry. I have it clipped on my light-up running vest and barely notice that it is there.

Gave them his gifts to all of my girls. They are loud and easily carried.

Love this device-it's small enough to wear but large enough you would be able to find it in a hurry. I originally purchased this for running but think it will also come in handy in the backcountry as the noise it produces is quite loud!

I feel safer when I’m running trails. Lucky haven’t had the need to pull the alarm , I feel much better knowing that if the need arises, I’m ready .

Just received it and went to try it out, but it doesn’t work!The battery may have run out, but Amazon have only given me the option to return it.I will not be re-ordering it when I finally get my refund!

Bigger then I thought. Wish it was a little louder. I wish the cable when pulled would pull all the way out and you could toss it away in an emergency rather than it being easily push back in and disarmed.

This alarm was advertised to be as loud as an ambulance. It is not loud. I tested it outside the door of my house and you could barely hear it inside the house while standing on the other side of the door. Also it has a clip similar to a hair clip to attach to your clothes, bag,...and the clip is lightweight plastic and I predict it will soon snap off. I would have preferred a keychain.
