Wireless Light Switch Kit with 433 MHz Radio Switch and Receiver

I’ve been living in my house for about two and a half years, and the light switch for my converted attic has always been in the most awkward place imaginable. To turn the light on, I had to go upstairs, cross the entire room in the dark, and fumble around with a torch during winter months.This Thinkbee Wireless Switch completely solved that problem. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s been life changing for me, as someone who uses the attic daily. The installation was straightforward, even for a DIY novice like me. I followed the instructions, wired the receiver in, and had it running within minutes. The components are compact enough that I’ll be tidying them into an empty junction box soon.I’ve been using it for around six months now and it’s worked flawlessly, no connection dropouts or issues. The range is excellent, and it switches instantly every time. The wall switch looks neat and modern and can be stuck in place with the included adhesive and or screw.One small tip that caught me out, make sure you pair the remote to the receiver, it’s in the booklet but easy to miss if you jump straight in.For anyone wanting to add an extra switch or fix a badly placed one without rewiring, this is a brilliant bit of kit and genuinely worth every penny.

What a Smart Gadget.We were fed up with our old PIR garden light, which illuminated for every passing bird and waving tree branch. We really needed an outside light which was switchable remotely from inside the house or from the car when returning after dark.This device was an ideal solution. It comprises a small switch with a radio antenna attached. The switch is fitted into the wiring between the mains and the lamp and establishes radio contact with the little portable switch, a click of which turns the light on or off. Exactly what we wanted!Fitting the switch is easy and took only a few minutes, and all the quickfit connectors are supplied. Just read the instructions carefully and check the excellent wiring diagrams and all is done.Perfect.

Great product, works as advertised, however... The two connection blocks supplied with it are useless; the orange levers to make the connections snapped on both long before they'd secured the wires, so I had to resort to old-school connection blocks. Not a problem as I had some in the workshop anyway, but if you're not an engineer yourself then get some in ahead of time. Also, if you're installing the receiver up in the loft above the light fitting, make sure you take the switch with you to pair it up after connecting - I forgot and had to go back down to get it, not a major problem though as you should be flipping the breaker rather than working on a live circuit, so you'd have to go back down anyway to power the circuit back up ;) One last recommendation - at some point you'll need to replace the battery in the switch, so I'd recommend using velcro dots to attach it to the wall, rather than the double-sided tape supplied with it. You could secure it to the wall through the single screw hole, however the slot to release/open the case is on the back, so I don't see how you'd be able to open/remove it after you've clipped it into the backplate, also, with it only being a single screw hole, there's scope for the switch to pivot around the single screw, especially if used by kids. All-in-all though, I'd definitely buy one again if the need arises, great product for the price :)

I Have only just installed this device so, I can't comment on it's long term performance. However, once youhave one of these, you see the potential, and become aware of the many uses this device can be put to.In particular, for the disabled. I have fitted the receiver inside the cavity around an extractor fan, utilizing thethe existing wiring for an additional spot light. I like the switch in particular; it is positive and can be operated by an elbow! In addition, you have no problems fitting it in a bathroom. Very useful, solves manywiring problems. I am now considering purchasing more, the only question is: how many?

Good product amazingly small. Used this particular wireless switch as it was for the bathroom to switch heated mirror on and off the unit is IP65 ( most are not). Easy to connect and and pair up. Great Item and allows you fit the operating switch anywhere convenient.

We needed a switch for the wall light in our bathroom, as the pull cord on the switch I made for it snapped. This remote alternative ticks all the boxes and is easy to install and a big benefit is that the switch can be put anywhere. Its silent operation, compared to pull chord switches makes this a more convenient and practical solution, especially in the middle of the night when you want to be quiet. A word of advice though: if your light fitting has a small step-down transformer in it, then the switch needs to go between that and the power supply coming through the wall or ceiling. I initially fitted it between the transformer and the lightbulb and I couldn’t make it work. I think it needs a proper 240 V AC power supply, rather than the stepdown current that the transformer produces. If you do what I initially did, then you’ll be very disappointed and you may even send it back saying that it doesn’t work. The instructions are simple to follow, but they don’t include advice if your light has a transformer.Update ( January 2022)I was so pleased with this product that I bought a double switch with two receivers for my outside lights. Perfect! One switch in the hall and two lights at opposite ends of the building, about 15 m apart. No wire chasing and no hassle. Very convenient and the switch is exactly where I want it. Definitely recommend this solution.

I recently used one of these wireless devices to replace two old outdoor lights with modern up/down lights, and it was an absolute game-changer. Previously, the wiring was a mess: cables ran between the lights on either side of my patio doors, and a light switch was awkwardly placed halfway up the wall – all encased in unsightly trunking. It looked awful, with trunking everywhere!I decided to rip it all out, cutting back about 10 meters of internal wiring. I then drilled a small hole, fed the cable through, and connected it to this wireless device. I was genuinely surprised by how tiny it is – easily 10 times smaller than I expected! I popped it into a junction box, ran a 1mm black cable externally to the first light and then on to the next.The result? The outdoor area looks incredibly neat, and there's zero cable visible inside. Plus, the wireless switch required no wiring at all, which is phenomenal.My only regret is that when I had my downstairs rewired following an extension, my spark said you can't beat cable. I wish I'd pushed for these, as I could have lived with the initial lighting setup and then easily added more switches wherever and whenever I wanted.I'll only use these for future lighting arrangements.
