Sopito 3/8 Inch Replacement Blade for French Fry Cutter

When it arrived it first had to be assembled. This is fairly easy and takes 5 minutes. When assembled it looked like something that had been constructed on a garage workbench with no streamlining whatsoever. However it is fantastic well made and cuts chips beautifully. I opted for the additional french fry blades as well and that cuts equally well. Like all chip makers of this type it is still hard to go through in one stroke. So a jerking action gets it through the cutter ok. On one occasion I changed the blade over to the french fry blade and it was a little stiff to get it off. Stupidly, and without thinking I put my finger on the potato side to give it a little push. Big mistake as it is razor sharp and I ended up with a double cut finger. So beware. Other reviewers have pointed out that the rubber suction pad on the bottom is not very good. The up and down suction is is quite strong but sideways it tends to slide about a bit. However it depends on what surface it is attached to and I found the suction adequate for the job. Overall a good cutter, well made mostly in stainless steel, a little heavy and a bit bulky. Easy to clean under a tap or in a dishwasher.

Easy to use/ robust, strong will not bend up like the tin ones. Mind fingers very sharp. It may be more expensive but you get what you pay for

This is our 2nd blade purchase. 1st one lasted about 4 years of regulars chips making. very sturdy and sharp.

It's harder to operate than when using the 1/2" plate. There's a fair bit of resistance but it should get easier with practice. In all I'm very pleased with it and happy with my choice of purchase..

We were fed up with cheap chippers and at last we have found one that is both robust and sharp producing perfect chips every time. The chips are perfectly cut not extruded by brute force.

Bought this as an extra for my Sopito chip cutter; which is absolutely the best I have ever used. Easy to make french fries, as opposed to fat chips, with this simple to change blade lattice and 'pusher'. Special offers from the sellers made it an even better bargain.

Muy buen corta patatas todo en aluminio y acero, yendo por partes: - Excelente corte suave y eficaz, se desliza muy bien y las cuchillas muy afiladas. Puedes meter patatas grandes PERO asegurate para q salga bien el corte que esté LONGITUDINALMENTE a la cuchilla, los mas HORIZONTAL POSIBLE. Asi no tendrás atascos o malos cortes. - Me compré tb la cuchilla de 3/8 de pulgada y salen las patatas fritas mucho mejor, dentro del cambio de cuchillas la cosa tiene su miga, porque tienes que alinear los laterales con los encastres traseros. El truco es hacerlo apretando poco a poco las palomitas de sujeción, UNA VEZ TENGAS LAS PAREDES LATERALES ENCASTRADAS en los huecos traseros y delanteros, de lo contrario empezarán a combarse, Todas las piezas encajan a la perfección NO FORCÉIS NADA. - Palanca de corte.- si podéis no la desenrosquéis todo el rato, salvo que el enrosque lo hagáis con mucha delicadeza, de lo contrario se os pasará la rosca, avisados quedáis. - De todo lo anterior resulta la gran ventaja que se puede desarmar por completo y de vez en cuando darles un lavado en profundidad pieza por pieza, pero esto es en periodo de meses porq se lava a la perfección montado. - recomiendo la compra de la otra cuchilla, pero bueno eso es cuestión de gustos. EN RESUMEN: Excelente cortapatatas que requiere muy poco esfuerzo y mantenimento, lo recomiendo.
