Great gizmo to have with a 32" Vizio Smart TV
I own a VIZIO M320SL. It is a 32" LED TV. It comes standard with a remote that looks very similar to this one except that it doesn't have a keyboard. It takes a lot of time to write a query in the search bar (for instance in the YouTube app) just by using the arrow and the OK buttons on the remote. This is the main reason I tried to acquire a remote with keyboard included. Why a remote with keyboard is not a standard feature on all the Smart TVs from VIZIO, I have no idea. After doing a little bit of research I came across the XRV1TV 3D remote which is supposed to be a replacement for the remotes that come standard with some of the bigger M series TVs from VIZIO. Although VIZIO states that this remote will not work with the particular model of TV that I posses, I took a chance on it. I assumed that the in larger M series TVs VIZIO will have a very similar IR sensor to the one present on my TV. As it turns out, my assumption was right and the XRV1TV 3D works very well with my 32" M series TV. No problems so far.The XRV1TV 3D remote came out without a manual or batteries. It is a little heavier than the one that came with my TV. The keyboard is located on the back of the remote. The layout of the keyboard is similar to the English one on a computer keyboard. All the buttons of the remote are functional except the 3D button, my TV model is not 3D capable. Unfortunately the 3D button replaces the WIDE button, that normally controls the width of the image, but this is something I cam live with because the image width can be adjusted from the Menu button.Overall, I am very pleased with this remote and I recommend it. If you decide to buy it keep in mind the fact that my experience is limited to only one model of VIZIO Smart TVs (32").

Unofficial Replacement for Vizio VUR10
After going through 2 VUR10 remotes for my XVT42SV Via Apps TV, I was frustrated by the cost and the knowledge that the remote would likely stop working in less than a year. The problem with the VUR10 is a thin flat flex connector that connects the two halves of the remote and allows it to slide. That connector is fragile and breaks easily during the sliding motion. Vizio will do nothing for you if you are our of warranty and replacements are $50 to $70 if you can find one. After looking all over for something that would allow me to use the Via Apps, I first found the VR17 ($12 on Amazon). It looks like the top half of the VUR10. It worked well for controlling the Via function and is only IR but worked fine for that. There is no keyboard, so text entry has to use the onscreen keyboard. I have noticed a little funky operations of the four multi-colored buttons. I only use the Vizio remote for the Via functions as I have a cable DVR for regular channel changing. As I was searching some more I found the XRV1TV ($21 on Amazon). THIS is how the VUR10 should have been designed! I'm sure Vizio is dealing with 1000's of frustrated customers with the VUR10 and went back to the engineers and said to redesign it so it doesn't have moving parts! The top of the remote is like the normal (updated) Via remote with the addition of hot buttons for Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, and Vudu. These buttons work great with my TV. The backside of the remote is the QWERTY keyboard. This remote does not appear to be bluetooth. However the keyboard works just fine held in the proper orientation, in fact I almost think it works better than the original.Again, I use a cable DVR for most "regular" TV viewing and use the cable remote for that. However, I have found the XRV1TV to control the Via functions well and the remote to be as compatible as I can find for all functions. Overall, a great find for my tv.

Remote Works For VIZIO Model #E3D420VX
The price is perfect! I was cautiously optimistic about buying this remote when, as three other reviewers stated, "my dog ate the one that was shipped with my TV"... lol ... so did mine.:( My TV is the Vizio 42" 3D 1080p 120Mhz HDTV, the "E" Series. The reason for the caution? I noticed another reviewer claiming my same model number who stated that this remote did not work with his/her TV. I don't know the reason why it didn't. I do know that this remote works perfectly with Vizio model #E3D420VX. The original remote, or perhaps just the one they threw in the box with my TV since it's a refurbished unit, didn't have the qwerty keyboard on the back. That little addition (the keyboard/function keys on the back) is very, very handy when searching for Netflix entertainment as well as for setting up the TV. It's worth the price just for the keyboard. I have taken extensive time going through each function of this remote on my TV/Monitor and, each and every feature not only works, but works well. If you own a Vizio 3D HDTV 42"-60" "E" Series, this model will more than likely work for your TV too. Much thanks to my seller (Sourcing Remote) who shipped the product the day I ordered it. The remote got to my front door a full week (holidays included) before it was scheduled to arrive. I suppose a thanx to USPS, on that count, is also in order.A special note to reviewers: Please! Include your model number with your review! Some don't, which leaves the rest of us, who are interested in the product, to question whether the particular product reviewed will suit our needs as well. Thanx. I hope this helped.
