These headphones are great, they do fold up. We store them in the fuzzy bag they came in. It has a cord that comes with it to plug in, so even if it does die, we can plug it into his kindle if we don't have time to charge it. Charging is a mini usb port, it charges within an hour or so. You can turn the headphones off and on when using them wirelessly.
