I liked the fluid moves, very easy to follow. I was surprised that some of the music sounded more country western, than Hawaiian 🌺🤷🏻♀️Anyways it is a fun tape👍

Enjoyable workout! Nice vacation vibe!
I have been using the Island Girl Hula dvds every day for the past 3 weeks now and I am already seeing results. I have lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks with the help of this workout series. I also have the Island Girl abs and buns, and Cardio Hula dvds and I like to mix them up every few days to keep things interesting.I really like this workout series because it is low-impact, and if done with the correct form, it makes a great workout; you will get your heart rate up and break a good sweat at the end of each workout if you focus on form. Hula is not as easy as it looks. I have just recently learned that it takes a lot of effort and muscle control to dance as gracefully as Kili does, but I am throughly enjoying the process and these workouts.Another thing that I enjoy about these workout sessions is that they were filmed outside with beautiful trees and the ocean in the background instead of in a generic studio setting. The music is also relaxing and enjoyable. This series has more of a "learning how to Hula dance while on vacation vibe". Perfect for summer!The reason why I gave this workout series 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are times in the workout or in the ending dance routine that the camera zooms in for a body shot of the instructor and it throws me off of my groove because I want to be able to see the instructor fully throughout the entire workout to help me keep up with the moves. Also, there are times when the workout or dance does not quite sync up with the music, but it can mostly be overlooked... other than that I love the Island Girl Hula workout series, and I actually look forward to exercising now. I don't dread these workouts or watch the clock like I used to with other workout dvds. I now plan to buy Kili's Tahitian Hip Hop dvd to complete the series.

DVD's not loaded normal
I went to play the basic hula DVD last night and the disc wouldn't automatically load/start playing like a normal DVD. Tried the 2nd disc for Hula for Weight Loss and the same thing. Finally was able to play the Cardio Hula DVD and work out for the day. I came back to these 2 DVD's to see what was going on and it looks like the workout wasn't loaded onto the disc normal. I had to click through disc data and there were about 5 files to choose from. I still want to try the DVD's but having to figure out which of the 5 files on each disc is going to make that a little difficult. Is there any possibility of getting a new set of these DVD's?

Fun, graceful, and toning
I loved this two set DVD. I had already purchased 'Island Girl Dance Fitness Workout for Beginners Hula Abs and Buns' and gave it a 5 star too. I still workout to it.Kili teaches us routines slowly, incorporating the key movements of the hula with her exercise workout. By the end of the DVD, we've learned an entire routine while toning our bodies.I am soon to be 63 and I now have some health problems, so I no longer can do stressful aerobics, plus I'd begun to have hip problems. Sometimes it got bad enough that I had to use a cane. Walking or light jogging hurt my hip even more.BUT - here's the best part of Kili workouts - my hip no longer hurts. How great is that? However, a word of caution - definitely check with your doctor if you have any health problems or hip problems before starting and type of exercise or dance fitness.I must say, I don't understand the low ratings that complain of Kili not being traditional. Did they want a workout or to learn the traditional hula dances, and which tradional hula are they talking about? Kili's style is basic hula (auana style) including all the movements you would learn in a hula class - a modern-day hula class.Thanks to Kili's training, I now have begun to learn hula dancing in the style taught with Western influence music and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.As for the spiritual aspect, in no way does Kili ever insult the spiritual side of hula. I can't help but wonder if those reviewers wanted to learn the traditional spiritual with chants. If that's what they wanted, why buy a dance fitness workout? Have they ever watched true kahiko?Kili, I absolutely LOVE your workouts. Ignore the bad reviews and keep on teaching us how to tone and lose weight by the wonderful, graceful, gentle art of hula.As for me, I will continue to purchase Kili DVD's!

If someone wants to dance hula and sticks with it, this DVD will get you there.
I love this hula workout! I sing the tune, "Hula Rock Mama," and do the dance anywhere and everywhere, including on a Sunset Dinner cruise in Key West! The instructions for hip circles were the best breakdown that I've ever seen. People should not expect to master the hip movements immediately. I've studied belly dance, and even at the end of a year of study, there wasn't the hip definition I wanted. But I got it about three months after beginning the hula program! Really, these basic hula steps are a great start! Put a scarf around your hips for maximum enjoyment of your hip motions.

This is fun!
This is so much fun, didn’t expect a hula how-to mixed into an aerobic class. Great addition to other exercise DVDs in my lineup. And shot outdoors, glorious scenery. Worth its weight in gold when winter rolls around and skies are gray.

Hula Workout for beginners
This was a fantastic buy except for the fact that 1 of the 2 disks skips. The workout had me sweating after the warm up. It's a fun and different way to get exercise. I enjoyed it very much. I would recommend for those who can keep up I do think it goes very quickly and isn't great for people who need to go through it multiple times before moving on.

やさしく簡単にフラの踊り方を教えてくれて有酸素運動をするシリーズです。見て真似をするだけなので英語は分らなくても問題ありません。フィットネスクラブで言えば、初心者入門クラス位なので、ビリーのブートキャンプより遥かに優しいです。運動量も有酸素運動30分なので汗だくです。コアリズムにも負けない効果がありました。ハワイの海辺の景色が美しく音楽も楽しく、見ているだけで明るく楽しい気分になります。女性インストラクターは英語でも優しさが伝わり、体操のお姉さんや、ピンポンパンのお姉さんのような雰囲気です。内容は、まず5分ほどの踊りの全体を見てから、ゆっくり少しずつ振り付けがはじまります。踊りの動作も、盆踊り程度?の簡単なものなので運動不足の私でもすぐに真似できます。楽しく数ヶ月繰り返していたら全体が踊れる様になりました。フラに興味があるが踏み出せないし時間がないという人にお勧めです。初心者が独習できる内容です。追加ですが友人にもプレゼントしたところ喜んで、ビデオに影響されてフラ教室に通いはじめました。さらにフラが習いたくなりますが、私は時間がないのでこのビデオで数年間楽しんでいます。

ハワイ気分を味わうならば
近年ちょっとしたブームのフラですが、いざ踊るとなるとなかなかむずかしいものです。このビデオは「基本編」と「実践編」に分かれていると考えていただいて結構ですが、初心者向けのはずの基本編でも基本ステップの説明はとても速くて、ついていくのが難しいです。しかし、先生役のダンサーは本当に美しいですし、ちょっとモダンダンスのようなステップも織り込んで、飽きさせない構成になっています。フラがお好きな方には是非お勧めです。
