Very pleased with the results
August 2024 Update. The dog got skunked again. Not because he was goofing off; but, because a skunk was behind the barn near the cats' pet door. The skunk was out during the day which is irrational behavior for a skunk. The dog saw it, ran over and grabbed it, pulled it away from barn, and then he backed off knowing he injured it and the skunk was no longer an immediate threat. The skunk was obviously sick to get that close to the barn and it also did not let out a full spray when the dog grabbed it and pulled it away from the barn.Hubby shot it, picked it up with the snake grabber, and took it down to where we burn brush and put it in the brush pile. In the meantime, the dog got a quick spray in Skunk-Off, then a bath using the shampoo, clothes were soaked in a mixture of the shampoo and water, and a bucket of soapy Skunk-Off was sprinkled over the stinky area behind the barn. We really like this product after so many false starts with other products. This is why dogs and cats, especially farm dogs and cats, need annual vaccinations which include rabies. You just never know when something is going to happen.---------------------------------------------March 2023My darlings got skunked. Again. This makes twice for the one dog and the other dog managed to escape with only an indirect shot. Every dog we have or have had, either adopted or fostered, eventually learns the lesson the little black and white critters are not kitties. Some learn it faster than others. Unfortunately, some are a little slow on the lesson. We had one dog that finally learned after three times.I have the spray bottle of Skunk-Off as well as a gallon to refill the spray bottle. It does not take much Skunk-Off to spray and saturate the fur. It helps if you have an accommodating dog for the session. Our other dog, both are 50lbs so let me put that in perspective, does not want any of this spray stuff on her. What I do is liberally spray her outside chair and outside bedding several times as well as her inside bedding. I try to get close enough to send a couple of sprays her way. She was not amused. She was on her chair for awhile and she rubbed enough Skunk-Off on her belly and side to take care of those areas. By the time she came in the house she was not noticeably skunky. It did help I also sprayed the carpet where she would walk or might lay down so the entire living room area had the nice pleasing Skunk-off odor.I'm not being facetious on the use or smell of Skunk-Off. I've used some products that stink as bad as the skunked dog. This product has a pleasing odor even if you use a lot of it. Once I discovered Skunk-Off, it was all we needed to keep on hand at the ranch. I cannot recommend this product enough. Get it before you need it.

It works
My dogs took multiple direct hits from a skunk. This product did make life liveable with them. It did not remove the odor entirely but it did cut it by about 80%, which is a win when you are in that situation.

Best for people and pets
This is amazing. I have a family of skunks that moved in and I am in the process of discouraging. This removes 90% of the odor from my dogs. The trick is put this on and not water cause water makes it worse. This also works on people but I am not sure if it’s supposed too but when I’m need ect ect. This works best for me on fabrics and carpets. I use strait bleach for skunk on concrete and rock ect and it works great. This works ok on those but bleach is cheaper and better.

Doesn't really do anything to help.....
Our dog took a direct shot and very close range from a skunk. So got this to try to help eliminate some of the smell as it says it will. This will mask the smell for a short time, but by no means eliminate anything. The smell of the product is ok, but not great either. I would have been more than willing to accept that smell if it would have done anything with the skunk smell. Disappointed.

It works.
The solvent itself doesn’t smell very nice but it’s very effective on overpowering skunk smell. Make sure to put some on a paper towel and carefully wash your dog’s face and ears to get all the skunk off then either rinse with water or wipe off with wet washcloth. The legs and chest are important too. Good luck!

It isn't magical or instant.
It doesn't eliminate the skunk smell immediately but it definitely helped to minimize the smell. I only applied it twice so perhaps 2-3 times more would have ben a game changer? That said it was definitely helpful and worth the cost for sure, unless you like the smell of skunk 😆

The one and only cure for being skunked
I've heard all the folklore and tried probably all of the remedies anyone can imagine for a pet that has been sprayed by a skunk. Believe me, this is the ONLY one out there that actually works. After a family of skunks moved into our yard, we enjoyed the thrill of a 2 a.m. skunk crisis about twice a week for an entire summer. Both dogs took direct hits from multiple hostiles on numerous occasions, particularly in July near the full moon when the little black-and-white striped terrorists were at the height of their nefarious activities. We tried tomato juice, vinegar, odor mute, a bunch of other brands of skunk sprays--all of which were "guaranteed"--and probably any other folk remedy that could be found after numerous deep dives on Google, and, much to our dismay, our dogs remained saturated in the choking burnt-rubber smell of concentrated skunk-funk for days one end following the encounters. If you've ever tried to decontaminate a dog that has been blasted by a skunk so severely that the monster has marked your pet's fur with a giant yellow stain of shame at 2 a.m., you'll know that you never get used to the smell, and that concentrated skunk spray always induces dry heaves and a crippling headache after prolonged exposure. At that point, you'll suddenly understand just how important it is to have an actual product on hand that will quickly and effectively eliminate the bulk of the odor.Skunk-Off in the trigger-spray soaker became a Godsend for us. Not only does the liquid quickly knock down and eliminate the odor, but the big spray bottle makes it easy to saturate the affected area quickly and effectively. No more dry heaves, no more angry neighbors awakened by frantic F-Bombs in the wee hours of the morning, no more staggering, drooling pets crippled by the tail gun of America's most feared chemical-warfare warrior-animal.We keep at least one 32-oz bottle on hand at all times (Remember: you can't use it if you don't have it!) Although a 32-oz bottle be used effectively for about four applications of a moderate skunk drive-by spraying, you'll need to use 16 ounces to deal with a direct hit from short range. You never know when your pet will be skunked, and the odds are that it will happen at the least convenient time. Stock up before it happens and save yourself heartache.(By the way, if you find yourself ill-equipped and facing a skunk crisis with no Skunk-Off on hand, the one folk remedy that we came up with that works pretty well is the application of Dawn dishwashing liquid, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in the following manner: dissolve one box of baking soda in a quart of warm water and set aside. Wet the animal down with a garden hose. Wearing rubber gloves, work a generous amount of Dawn into the sprayed areas and work up a good suds. Use the baking-soda water mixture to rinse away the slurry of dish soap and skunk funk. Rinse again with clear water. Repeat if necessary. Rinse affected area with hydrogen peroxide. Let peroxide stay on area for a few minutes. Rinse animal well with clean water. BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO GET ANY OF THESE MATERIALS IN YOUR PET'S EYES OR INSIDE THE EARS!)One final note: Skunks are God's creatures and also a pretty fine barometer for your pet's ability to learn, so please don't kill them. After two blasts, our one dog figured out that skunks should be avoided and she hasn't been sprayed in a long, long time; the other one never seemed to figure out the connection between skunks and getting sprayed and he continues to have a terrific knack for being sprayed directly in the muzzle from short range. All that said, please don't kill skunks (but remember that they can carry rabies). Skunks can be effectively trapped alive and relocated if they become a nuisance. You or a wildlife professional can do this if you are so inclined or if you have money to spare. The best defense is making your property unattractive to skunks. You can figure out how to do this using The Google. Good luck!

Works fantastic
Our dogs chased a skunk under our cabin and it sprayed right under our spare room. Dogs didn’t get hit directly so that wasn’t a huge problem. Big problem was the smell in the spare room. We could not step foot inside that room and had to close it off. Came back a week later with this product. The room still stunk but it was bearable. Used this product in the laundry with bedding and sprayed the mattress and floor down. There was an immediate difference. I wished I would have had this the week before when it happened. I also used a sprayer and sprayed under the cabin as best I could reach. By the time we were done there was only a very faint smell remaining, likely from the areas I couldn’t reach under the cabin. I will always have this product on hand just in case. We also ordered the shampoo in case the dogs get hit. I will never be without this.

It works!
It smells a bit like skunk but it gets the job done quickly! Can use directly on pet, furniture, and even in laundry. I also just misted it in all affected rooms. Smell was gone from furniture and rooms in a day. Took a bit longer and repeated applications for our cat but he got a very good spray right in the face.

Worked great.
After two applications, the odour was 90% gone. Within 4 or 5 days it wasn't noticeable at all, unless we made a point of checking his muzzle at which time the odour was very faint.

Works great!
I was pleasantly surprised that this did actually work to eliminate the odour from an outside spray. I sprayed it on my curtains on the patio window. My husband was sceptical and he was not happy that I “wasted” money on a product that probably didn’t work. I knew it was effective when my husband took it outside and sprayed it on the fence and yard where the skunk sprayed and later he admitted that it did improve the smell immediately and the product has remained in the garage! It does require more than one application to completely work outside.😁

Life saver if you silly dogs like mine
Have had serval occasions to use this. Not only is it safe for your pets, you can spray it on furniture and in the air and it helps dissipate the smell quickly. I also soaked cotton balls with the skunk off and left several dishes around the room and it helped with the smell in the air. We bought the big jug because dogs seem to always want to chase the stinky kitties at the most inopportune time. Had friends over for dinner 3 days later and neither our dogs or our house smelled of skunk.
