Best pocket knife ever
I’ve gone through many pocket knives over the years. I always have one in my pocket and use them for way more than they are intended. My last one had I gone through 6 of the same knife as I beat on them a lot. That knife got discontinued and I was looking. I bought 6 or seven knives until I found this.I love the spring assisted index finger opening. I’ve never really liked a serrated blade, but the half serated feature is pretty nice. This knife is super strong and durable. I waited 4 months before my review. I love the knive. It fits well and the bit of mass is nice. Now, I had to make a few modifications to make me love it. A pocket knife does not have a belt clip as that got caught on my pockets and added unnecessary bulk. I cut that off with a grinder and that solved my problem. The next problem was the safety feature on it. A little thing you have to hit to allow the knife to open. What a total pain in the ass. I assumed it was a cheap piece of plastic and I could just break it out - WRONG. It was solid metal and a bitch to remove. I went through two drill bits to drill it out, then pried it off. Since then, I love the knive. A big change from previous ones, although a higher price point. I was used to the $12 knives. I’ll never go back.

Not for babies
Gerber, the name speaks for itself. Great quality knives (and other things) at a fair price with a great warranty. This thing is sharp, feels good in the hand, opens quickly and easily. The only issue I have is with my hands/fingers and the locks. The safety lock isn’t really an issue with the exception of being annoying to me, but the lock itself I have issues with as you have to slide both sides back at the same time and my hands don’t like that. Otherwise I have no other issues or complaints, it’s not the knife, it’s me. I would recommend this knife. The price was right, got shipped out and received quickly. I’d buy it again for a gift for someone. Nice knife.

I went to college and all but…
It has taken me three weeks to get a routine down to open this knife. Maybe it’s me, but it is not intuitive. But I’m good now. The build quality is high and the blade is perfect with its partially serrated edge. It is my everyday carry knife and, as I spend a lot of time in a forest, it gets a lot of use. I bought a belt clip to keep the knife handy and not lost. I lost my last Gerber and I’ll probably lose this one. But the price is right and I’ll just replace it.

A great daily use knife.
I'm in the military and carry this knife every day, including in the field. It has gone through a lot and survived a lot while remaining mostly unscathed. The locking feature takes a while to get used to but is extremely nice and prevents it from stabbing you by accident. The blade retains an edge really well. The pocket clip is reversible and has yet to bend out of shape. It feels great in the hand and is easy to open and close one handed with either hand. I've carried various knives over the years and this is hands down the best one I've ever carried. I would highly recommend it for anyone.

Almost a Perfect Knife. Edited.
This knife was almost an all time favorite if it hadn’t come so dull and the very tip weren’t bent out of the packaging. It’s a perfect weight for my measure of EDC and the blades strength seemed pretty on par. Dunno if I’ll bother trying to exchange it or just risk buying another.Update: I decided to keep the previously purchased knife and order a second. The second did not disappoint. I am extremely satisfied with this EDC. The knife feels well balanced and strong, and sharp as heck right out of the package. Definitely worth the second purchase. Great knife!

A pain to open and heavy
I absolutely hate this knife. If I could return it I would. I never use it. It is heavy and the locking mechanism is a pain. You have to flip the safety switch down then flip the blade open. It is difficult to do. The knife is also very heavy and I no longer carry it around. I would not recommend.

Good blade, bad locking mechanism
I've been a Gerber fan for about 20 years now. Never had an issue, still don't, and I'm used to a decent quality build. This new Highbrow blade just doesn't meet the quality that is associated (at least that I feel) with the Gerber brand. The blade is good; It's sharp, sturdy, and the serrated edge is beefy. The handle is a little fat, but it's also a cheaper knife. Most lower end knives are a little fatter. The open assist works great, its smooth and fast. The blade lock is an ambidextrous build so you can unlock the blade with either hand and it works well. The safety lock is the big issue. Out of the last 3 Gerber's I've bought, they all had an in-handle safety so the blade doesn't come open in your pocket. This one has a push button at the top that locks under the speed open tab to stop it from moving. This button is spring loaded (feels like a spring from a pen), it doesn't stay in place; either it slides back when you go to open which forces it to stay shut, or it slides out of the way and doesn't lock.I'll keep this blade because I already have it, but I cannot recommend it. If you need a lower cost knife, buy one without the speed open or get one of the higher end models.
