I had all but given up on beef jerky ever being what I dreamed it might some day be.All that was left were reconstituted, over-processed, toothpaste tube-like some-kind-of-meatlike-substanceORTiny pouches of multi-flavored bark.Then, a friend gave me some Old Trapper, Old Fashioned Beef Jerky.It was an epiphany. An oral orgasm. The kind of satisfying texture, flavor, moisture level and smell of my dreams for all these years.It is the best commercially available beef jerky EVER.How much do I like it? Enough to have bought two of these 10oz bags and eaten an entire bag right out of the Amazon box while my cats played with the packaging and looked, longingly, at my mana from heaven. The second bag was gone later that same day and all I could do was cry because I had only bought TWO bags.Get some. Nosh. Smile ear to ear. Sniff and lick your fingers when the bag is empty and go to bed knowing more is on the way from Amazon in two days :)

So some old trapper makes this stuff? Where do old trappers get sodium benzoate and sodium nitrite? Sears Roebuck catalog? I don't know but Old Trapper knows how to make jerky! Before this, I thought all jerky tastes and chews like an old trapper's leather boot. There is obviously no 'Link' between this and other jerky products. This one is like a mellow bourbon to be savored and experienced, not wolfed down like some other brands, to avoid gnawing on gristle and sinewy material. The texture is more refined. It has some tooth to it but not overly tough, nor does it melt in your mouth, leaving you yearning for a real piece of meat. The flavor is a perfect blend of not too sweet and not too salty. It's just right with a very slightly fruity undertone Teriyaki twist. How do old trappers know about teriyaki, anyway? Well, this one apparently does. In a world of seemingly endless brands and varieties of jerky, you can't go wrong trying this one!

This is one of the best jerkys I’ve ever had. First bought it at a gas station then found it here. Pieces are tender and stay fresh a long time.

Best beef jerky I've had, awesome bang for your buck. Great flavor, not too tender and not too tough. But listing is wrong, this is not a pack of 12 this is one 10oz. bag. Otherwise would be 5 star review

This is one of the best brands of jerky I've ever had. As with most beef jerky, this one seems pretty expensive. I was hoping to find it online cheaper than what I usually pay in convenience stores out in the desert but I ended up paying just about the same. If the cost drops, I will buy more otherwise this will have to be a special treat.

Great beef jerky. Came across this brand in Alaska- moist and good flavor. Cheaper in store, but I liked it so much was willin to pay the extra 5 dollars or so from Amazon to get another taste. I've let others sample it, and they can't get over the quality too. Worth splurging on once and awhile-
