Artscape 01-0123 Rice Paper Window Film, 12" x 83", Clear

I've used this rice paper in two different apartments now, and love how well it holds up. I've actually been pretty surprised that the paper has not needed any attention or fixing after being installed for over 2 years in my current apartment. I like that it's not adhesive, because that makes the installation (and removal) much easier. It (obviously) sticks really well to the glass as long as you have prepared the glass as instructed (clean it well, and then use a water spray bottle during the installation). The rice paper has even stuck well to glass that has some paint overspray on it that I didn't bother with trying to remove. For the most part, bubbles were very easy to work out during the installation, and as long as you did a good job there and don't let dust/dirt get onto the rice paper, my experience would say that you shouldn't have any problems with bubbles after installation. I was even able to remove & save some of the rice paper from my old apartment and reuse in my new one with little issue (though there are a few bubbles in the reused paper, as I didn't keep it perfectly clean). The paper also has a very nice aesthetic that lets in plenty of light but still fully obscures your view through the glass. The pictures on Amazon seem to represent well how it actually looks when installed. I would definitely recommend this to people wanting to add a nice look to plain glass or wanting to add some privacy to plain glass without installing blinds/curtains.

Love this stuff. We just moved into a new home, and we needed privacy around the front door, but I was reluctant to fuss up the sidelights with curtains. I saw this privacy film, read the reviews, and decided to give it a try.Instructions are easy to understand. The seller includes a small squeegee to push out bubbles. The results are beautiful. As you can see in my picture, plenty of light shows through but no one can see in or out of the window.Tips: Install the film during the bright light of day. This helps you a lot to see any bubbles, and you will have a few. No spray bottle? I didn’t have one either. I put a few drops of liquid dish detergent in a small canning jar, shook it well, and generously dabbed the soapy mixture onto the glass with a paper towel. Worked fine.Can you find my neighbor’s horse in the picture?

This product is very easy to use, it is very forgiving as long as you don’t cut it smaller than the window your applying it to!It adds privacy to our home without stopping the light from shining in!We will absolutely being using this product again in the future!

The front door in our new house has nine window frames, and it’s on a street with a lot of foot traffic. At night you could see to the back of the house. I want to replace this door eventually but didn’t want the cost now. The sidelights I covered with fabric panels on tension rods, but was looking for a solution for the door. This product looks great, was super easy to install, and gives excellent privacy. Took about 30 minutes to cut and install six panes, would have taken less if I’d measured right the first time LOL. Product package includes the squeegee too. Will buy again!!!

After bravely attempting lining my china cabinet doors with real rice paper (and failing), window film felt like a necessary compromise. It was, however, surprisingly easy to install and is much more textured and subtle than the rice paper I had used. It is exactly the semi-opaque, natural coverage I was looking for--a film of fibers once installed.Artscape includes easy-to-follow directions: clean glass, measure and cut film, wet glass with soapy water, apply film, squeegee gently 'til dry. The film is easy to work with and you have some time before it dries to adjust it on your window and squeegee out air bubbles. Aside from water dripping from the wet windows, the mess is minimal.I had really psyched myself out about the difficulty of this install, but finished the whole process in 15-20 minutes.The film is working beautifully for my china cabinet doors, but other reviews speak to how the film holds up on exterior doors.

I purchased this originally in 2012 for my sidelights. I didn't like the fact that anyone slowly driving through my subdivision could see all the way to the opposite end of my house. I hung curtains for a couple of years but hated how dark it made the hallway. These were an ideal solution. Good looks and permanent. They installed easily and over the past 4 years have never given me a bit of trouble. No peeling, no bubbling. I live in Michigan and get some rather harsh winters. The winter of 2014-15 was particularly cold. My door is west facing and gets full sun so during the summer, the windows get extremely hot. This product has been fantastic in both extremes.I am purchasing these again to put on glass doors of a curio cabinet. I want the cabinet for storage and not display. Using this product will achieve that role and tie the look of the front door with the curio cabinet. Even though they are different areas, the colors are the same and the look will be uniform throughout my space.

Very easy to install. Looked great. I just did not like the low level of privacy it provided. Removed and trashed it since I couldn't really return. Trying a different brand and pattern.

I am a woman of privacy, my front door has glass panes which I couldn't figure how to create privacy, I came across these panels and purchased them. Great idea for me! I love it. If you want light to shine through these are not for you, if you want total privacy as I do then these are perfect. I love them. It was easy to place, the instructions says to use water with liquid soap but I used Windex and it worked perfect. You can't see out and no one can see in, bonus for me. If you want privacy, get them if you want some ability to see through then don't, nothing else to consider because they are easy to install (one man job) and worth the money.

Exa t’y what we were looking for, we used this for a French door for our powder room. Can’t see through, but still don’t feel so enclosed in the small room.

I had a slight problem with the product which can happen but was happy with how it was resolved and promptly. End result is great.
