Reads like a memoir or Biography---different than most anxiety books but good!
This is a book that is only 68 pages long but the print is very small. If it was larger like new hardcover books it would probably be many more pages.First this is not the typical self-help book. I have terrible anxiety and pretty much try to read as much as I can. Blaise's book reads more like a memoir or biography with what he did for help at the very end. I found his story to be encouraging. I wish he would have given more details on the medications he tried (he mentions one). This book is certainly different from any other anxiety book I have read. I saw MANY similarities in our stories. He articulated some things I have been unable too. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I don't think the book itself will help my anxiety BUT the story gives me hope. It was worth the read for that reason alone. I wish the Institute for Anxiety Disorders of Atlanta was in Florida. It sounds like a place where one could get better. Blaise, if you read this please reply with any advice you could give me. My anxiety is centered around fainting.

Not Helpful to Me.
I'm disappointed that he didn't go into detail how he over came his agoraphobia. I have it and I'm happy he was able to overcome his but it didn't help me at all. He doesnt share any of the medicines he said helped him or any tips from the therapy he received. seemed to me to be more of a biography.

Helpful, interesting, and insightful
This was a very interesting book. I ordered this for a friend who had a sudden onset of agoraphobia and gave it to him as a gift. He couldn't put it down. I also enjoyed the autobiographical details presented by the author even though I do not suffer from this phobia. I strongly recommend the book for those afflicted by agoraphobia and for the rest of us interested in overcoming adversity.

Interesting and thought provoking.
I've suffered from social anxiety due to introversion and chose many addictive behaviors to try to cope. My mother suffered from agoraphobia that only got diagnosed after several years of depression. I'm finally ready to understand what she went through during my teenage years. This book shares one persons' struggles and eventual success. I'd like to have seen a full-blown description of the struggles and successes, but this definitely provides the perspective I was looking for. Thanks and be well!

A must read!
Homebound No More is a must read for anyone who suffers from anxiety disorders. Any family member or friend would find great benefit from reading HNM. Blaise Dismer is an inspiration, a bright light at the end of a very dark tunnel for people who know agoraphobia, anxiety or panic in any form. Bravo, Mr. Dismer!

"book" might not be the right word
Yet another example of why it is SO important to read ALL the product information. This is why I own several Spanish books, and this glorified pamphlet.I can't even address the content, I'm too annoyed anyone thinks they have the answer to crippling agoraphobia - in a pamphlet.
