Two hot, gym-obsessed friends from Berlin, one straight and one gay, win a trip to Greece. While on a hike through the forest, they become lost and tempers flare escalating in a violent scuffle. They wander in the woods until they find an abandoned village where they encounter a mysterious character who calls himself Hercules. There, they spend an extraordinary, passionate, erotic night together in a cave. The next day, nothing between the two will be like it was before...

Boring and sad
Slow moving...not all that enticing or well written...

Short, but very full of substance and depth.
"Orpheus' Song" is only 70 minutes long, but it never seems rushed. In fact, it actually lingers on the storyline almost lovingly, and gives us more than most longer films. Philipp wins a week-long trip to Greece, and takes his seemingly reluctant friend Enis along. The two are gym-buddies, but of course, we know there's more to it than that. Without going into the plot elements, this is a story about the enchantment of love, and how it weaves its spell. In Greece, in the high hills, the two friends meet a strange, friendly guy named Hercules who tells them some vague tales about fruit and water nymphs and "things that can happen". When Philipp and Enis awake in the morning, Hercules is gone. The film transitions into a very sensuous story, with one of the most incredibly erotic love scenes ever. That's all you need to know about the plot. The acting is very good, and the actors convince us that they believe in the story. The director has everything under control, and the skill he exudes is multi-leveled...tight when it needs to be, and free and earthy when needed. The writing is amazing. To be able to put so much information into such a short story, and for it to ring natural and true is a great gift. The action teases, frustrates and intrigues us, but it also surprises us. The photography captures the steamy, humid heat of Greece, and the hazy air can almost be felt as the guys go on their search for an ancient village. The soundtrack is minimal, which works well with the isolated look and feel of being lost in the hills...especially when we know that "something is going to happen." Highly recommended, and extremely well-crafted.

It covers plenty of ground without creating holes in the plot.
I liked the movie for the way it handled the subject. It wasn't clear to me, in spite of the title, how the story would play out. And the film was so engaging, I just went with it. The leads were both appealingly enigmatic to me. And the Hercules character provided a plot device that allows for either result the following day. If this reads as cryptic, I'm trying to avoid spoilers. If like me, you didn't care for "Bros", this is a movie you might enjoy. (Subtitled)

Don't Blame the Magic
I just love the best friends, best bros, homies type movies. Of course, they love each other. The only question is how much and what type of love. And whether they will have the courage to choose what is in their hearts and which one of the people they care about to hurt. As heterosexual men, they play rough and even fight and tussle. But they both know that that will not change anything between them. Frequently they have contrasting personalities. One is macho physical chasing any female in sight. The other is a quiet intellectual with a live in girlfriend. Mr. Macho wins a trip to Greece for two and Mr. Intellectual cannot go because of study. But they end up are on the plane together because they both knew that neither would go without the other. The author gives us many subtle hints of their relationship. See if you can figure out the ending before it is revealed. I think most will enjoy this movie. To the author I say "well played."

Mindless and mindboggling
Is there any there, there? More of a tourist video for outdoorsy tourists to Greece than anything else. Nothing motivates the connection between the two. No exposition on a deepening of the relationship or their identities as gay, or gay-lite, men. The one sex scene is totally predictable and yet gratuitous. Two gym rats rolling around in the sand on an enchanted island? Knock me over with a feather. Kind of like a Berliner: soft and fluffy on the outside, squishy and messy on the inside

Not worth the watch
I read the other reviews and was expecting it to be good but it fell really short. It wasn't even like you saw them fall in love, it was just a lot of nothing. Acting wasn't anything great either.
