At first they were wary of how big the flakes are, but I crushed them and now they love them. I have an adult Midas cichlid and an adult Red Devil cichlid. They go crazy when I approach the tank holding the jar now too. Strong smell, but not highly offensive and you can tell by the weight of the flake that its packed with good stuff. Hoping this company sticks around, I'll definitely order more!

This food has a very distinctive smell so be warned (my folks did not appreciate it when I opened the jar lol). However, I personally think the smell is appetizing when I think from the fish's perspective. Not much to it, my fish start smacking the surface when they see me grab this jar. Including my extremely picky Jaguar Cichlid. The fish eat it quickly so it doesn't foul the water or get stuck in the filter sponges. Even my guppies seem to like this more than their Hikari stuff lol.If I had to describe anything else aside from smell, the flakes have a unique texture to them probably because of the unique process of how it is made. I received a lot of large flakes that my Jaguar Cichlid appreciated, and I was able to crush them up for my smaller mouthed fish like the young angelfish and my fancy guppy strains. The jar is clear plastic but of a nice hard quality that won't break if dropped (I definitely dropped it a couple times).In conclusion, I have no reason to remove stars. My fish love it, I'm happy when they're happy. I will be ordering the 16 oz. jar soon!

Nothing but good things to say about this. I have a 20 gal Marine tank-- mostly damsels and a Clarkie clown. They gobble it up. Guessing this is fresher and more nutritious than other flake foods too. Has a richer color. REALLY like that the flakes are bigger and can break up to the size particles I want for feeding. Great product!!

Strong smell.Stiff flakes.Dark flakes.All good attributes.Fish like it right away.I alternate this food with others, to keep my fish from getting constipated with other foods, as this one is better for them, but it's in flake form so they eat less than if it was a granule.

Looks like a good product as far as color and size size of the flakes. For some reason my Bala Sharks were not crazy about them.

My angelfish absolutely love this. I feed it to a breeding pair of mine and some juveniles as well. It really brings out their colors and even colors the eggs of the breeders a sort of orange! My juveniles have shown a lot of growth since I've been feeding them this. My fish have never looked happier. I can't recommend this enough

These flakes are super fresh, love the quality, you can see and smell the difference. Fish love them!
