Cheap but very effective
I bought this to replace an old grill on the outlet of a kitchen hob's extractor fan. That allowed cold winter air back into the kitchen as it lacked a non return mechanism.I was skeptical that this would make much of a difference. I was wrong. The shutters sometimes don 't close completely needing a nudge. However it works remarkably well and has eliminated the draught. It was easy to install. The flexibility of the plastic allowed greater leeway in the installation to cope with another vent located too close this outlet.Considering the cost, this has had a dramatic and positive effect on the warmth of the house.

Perfect size
The fixing holes are well away from the pipe inlet so drilling it to the wall is a doddle. Looks smart, works perfectly. Had to go with black as the vent kit that came with extractor came with grey and didn't match the exterior. Worth the money. Just buy it.

Does the job
Easy to install, only down side when very windy the flap makes a noise

Did the job
Bought to replace the original exterior vent on our cooker hood as we were getting back draught. This fitted perfectly and has stopped the rattling and wind that was causing a draft in the kitchen.

It may last.
Very thin but should last. I have noticed that it still flaps in high winds all be not so much. I had problems getting the flap to fit flush until I noticed that the screw heads were just sticking out, so I had to use even smaller screws ( I think I finished using No4 screws). It might have helped if they could have supplied suitable screws.

You get what you pay for
This hooded cowl was to replace a broken one which was allowing a draught into my kitchen through the cooker extractor fan.The hood was very cheap, and the product came very poorly wrapped, basically just clear plastic covering it, no inner wrapping at all.It was easy to install, took me about 10 minutes, and it seems to be doing the job intended. The flap inside the hood rattles in the wind, which is quite annoying, but it seems to make a difference in the kitchen. No discernible draught since installed.
