Great colors and it will make a 5 year old very happy. However, may have trouble getting the pole back in the case. Ours got stuck in the extended position. Small detail as most this size are one piece anyway.

Both my son and daughter hoave put over 200 hours on their fishing poles and the both love the hell out of them. If properly taken care of there's been no malfunctions or anything wrong with the poles. They cast beautifully and we've pulled in quite a bit of trout and smallmouth bass with them no problems whatsoever.

We hooked up this set for our younger girls this weekend and the reel would not reel in once it got about 5 feet from us. It would just wind the whole time. If they caught a fish, we would not have been able to get it in. *we fish often and know how to set up a fishing line* these are cheap! (My fault as you get what you pay for) we are going to buy adult poles for them.

This fishing rod is a hit with my 4 year old grandchild that already caught 2 fish ice fishing it is the perfect size easy to extend length of rod and is very durable and not flimsy material that will break.
