Convenient solar panel for small off-grid projects
I love this little solar panel! I use it to recharge a 12V lithium ion battery I take on my astronomy camping trips. You'll need a charge controller to use this, but they're pretty cheap and easy to find. Also I ended up cutting off the connector and soldering on a 5mm barrel plug to make it compatible with my system. I'm not sure what kind of products use the plug it came with. The aluminum frame is pretty robust and seems to be holding up great after a few years. Be careful where you set it, though, as the edges may scratch some materials.Even if it's not totally clear and out of the shade, this manages to keep my batteries topped off during the day so I can run my telescope fans and charge my phone all night long.

Great for charging gate opener batteries
Had a small low wattage panel, but it couldn't keep the battery charged for my gate opener. I bought this 30 watt low cost panel and a second battery, hooked it all up and it's been charging just fine in the month since I bought it. This is a 30 watt panel which is the max my gate opener system accepts. I did have A/C power for a backup, but by using over 100 feet of extension cord. The plan was to run electric to the gate opener, but this seemed like a much easier and cheaper option - and it was. Installation was slam dunk. You do need some kind of method to mount it at an angle since it doesn't come with a mount. Admittedly, it's summer and it's been sunny every day so we'll see if it keeps the batteries charged when a string of cloudy days shows up or if I have to bring out the extension cord again. However, so far it has not once shown any indication of not sufficiently charging the batteries which would be apparent by the gate opener getting weak and having difficulty opening or going out one morning and having the gate not operate at all. Things I've experienced all too often when I had that previous low wattage panel. It's done such a fine job so far that confidence is high that even consecutive cloudy days won't require me to go back to the extension cord backup. So far I see no reason to purchase an expensive $200 panel when this panel accomplishes the same task at a price so much lower.

Panel was over boxed in a sturdy box arrived in perfect condition
I can't say enough how impressed I am with the quality of this panel. Currently its been very overcast and I've only had it installed 2 days, but its putting out plenty of power for what I'm using it for. I have it hooked to 4 computer fans to vent the garage. At 10:30 AM with totally cloudy skies it was putting out 0.43amps and 15.3 volts to the fans. I will probably put higher amperage fans on to drop the voltage some.Update: I installed higher speed fans to use more of the power at 12:20PM with mostly sunny skies the panel is putting out 19.5 volts DC at 1.05 amps to the fans. This equals 20.5 watts at a voltage higher than the max power is rated at so needless to say I'm very impressed. These fans are rated at 121CFM at 24volts and I would guess at 19.5 they put out roughly 100CFM. I have four of them connected so I now have ~400CFM of high static pressure air flow for free :).It was packed perfectly my only warning is the taped side of the inner box had the glass towards the seam which I wouldn't have expected. I was very careful when cutting the tape, but if you were careless you could scratch the glass. The panel frame is very sturdy I made 2 notches in each in so I could mount it using hose clamps to a clothes line and this worked perfectly. The ends are double walled aluminum so you don't want to drill any closer than 1/4" from the end which I found out the hard way on my first hole drilling into the out double wall. The wires and sealing on the panel were all well done as well. There is a little slide door that lets you see the wire connections. Currently I'm not using a solar controller but used ultra plugs on all my cable connections so it would be easy to plug one in. Online it said power output drops to 10-25% of max on cloudy days I'm seeing 24.7% of max power under cloudy conditions at 10:30 AM so I'm quite happy with that. There is no sun visible through these clouds so its very cloudy and darned humid on top of it.The panel wires don't have any plug ends which I wouldn't have used anyway as I installed ultra plugs (Deans plugs). They are perfect for small projects and can handle up to 30amps which in this case is way overkill.https://www.amazon.com/Connectors-Battery-Female-Shrink-Tubing/dp/B01CWYFS4Y/ref=sr_1_10?keywords=ultra+plug&qid=1565546276&s=gateway&sr=8-10So all I can say is super impressed overall. The poly solar crystals look so nice when you hold it sideways to the light I hated to mount in outside its practically a work of art lol.
