My husband is an avid coin collector, and he orders the red book every year. I got it for him for Christmas this year, and he was as happy with it as if I gave him a new car (he's easy to please). He keeps this book next to his desk and refers to it when buying from online coin auctions, as well as while pricing anything he is selling himself. It is the gold standard, in his opinion. He prefers the spiral to the hardbound because he can easily keep it open to the page of interest without damaging the book. According to him, if you're a coin collector, you need this book (as well as a couple of others he insists on--I know one is blue, but that's all I know about it) at your side in order to determine the value of any coins you own or want to own. He definitely recommends it (with the caveat that coin prices have been fluctuating A LOT the last few months, so do cross-check current values online, especially with gold).

This Red Book shows the retail value of coins and the companion, Official Blue Book, is the wholesale dealers' prices they will pay for the coins. They are a dynamite set of books to own if you are a collector or a hunter of coins. I wouldn't be without them. They are so easy to read and understand. Hurry and purchase both from Amaon and you will never be without them in the future! Good reading and hunting!!
