Product Description Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) has a gift - she can communicate with earthbound spirits or ghosts who cling to the living because they have unfinished business in our world preventing them from "crossing over" or going into the light. Inspired in part by the work of famed medium James Van Praagh and of Mary Ann Winkowski, a real-life communicator with earth bound spirits, GHOST WHISPERER explores the spiritual side of life and death. Melinda navigates between the dead and the living with her sometimes chilling, sometimes heart-rending and sometimes amusing actions as an intermediary between the ghosts and those they haunt. Although she is very good at being an intermediary she never publicizes this gift instead is known around town as a newlywed and the owner of the successful antiques store, Same As it Never Was. Firefighter Jim Clancy (David Conrad), Melinda's husband, knows that being an intermediary between the living and dead can take an emotional toll on his wife and worries that he might not be able to protect her as well as he would like. Melinda has also recently revealed her gift to new friend and employee, Delia Banks (Camryn Manheim), a single mom of teenager Ned Banks (Christoph Sanders). Melinda fears what the consequences might be of drawing Delia into this unconventional world, as Delia, unlike her son Ned, is a bit skeptical of Melinda's gift - although she loves Melinda unconditionally as a friend. Melinda has also shared her secret with Eli James (Jamie Kennedy), a psychology professor at Rockland University, who is a unique individual - he has the gift of hearing ghosts, but not seeing them. For her part, Melinda accepts her unique abilities as a blessing and sometime curse, but always helps her clients, alive or dead, find emotional closure. Currently in its fourth season, Ghost Whisperer plunges into new territory by literally rocking the foundations of the series with a new mythology - Love Transcends Death. desertcart.com Ghost Whisperer: The Final Season--or, The Mystery of the Haunted Hospital! The fifth and final season of Jennifer Love Hewitt's cult show leaps five years into the future, where her son Aiden (Connor Gibbs) is already conversing with ghosts and her husband Jim (David Conrad) has become a doctor. This latter development gives Melinda plenty of reasons to hang out at Rockland Hospital, which oozes with ghosts and becomes the central battleground for a new layer of Ghost Whisperer's mythology: just as Melinda can see ghosts that most people can't, Aiden can see supernatural beings called "shinies" and "shadows" that even ghosts can't see. The malevolent desires of the shadows drive much of the action over the season's 22 episodes. Plenty of episodes aren't centered on the hospital: a paranoid entrepreneur whose security system detects a ghost; marital strife between two real estate agents that continues after death; a clairvoyant comic-book artist; a ghost/clown/detective; and family secrets that threaten to ruin a romance between Melinda's friend Eli (Jamie Kennedy) and a childhood sweetheart. But the hospital proves an effective theater for creepy doings because, let's face it, hospitals--with their sterile environments and bloody surgeries, rife with life-and-death stakes and basic human vulnerability--are creepy. Though the conflict between shinies and shadows resolves fairly flimsily in the final episode, the show does an excellent job of building it up over the course of the season--as is so often the case, clues and hints are much more tantalizing than discovering what actually lies underneath it all. The extra features of Ghost Whisperer: The Final Season are middling--the featurettes and webisodes are a step up from the previous season, but the interactive games are still dopey. But the season itself is strong and sure to satisfy the series' fans. --Bret Fetzer Review: A Beautiful, Emotional Final Season - Season 5 of Ghost Whisperer delivers everything I love about the series—heart, mystery, and powerful storytelling. The character growth is especially strong this season, and the emotional moments hit even harder as the show moves toward its finale. Jennifer Love Hewitt gives an amazing performance, balancing warmth, fear, and compassion in every episode. The storylines feel deeper and more connected, and the twists kept me hooked all the way through. It’s a season full of closure, surprises, and memorable moments. If you’ve followed the show from the beginning, this final season is absolutely worth watching. Review: Great site - Great show

You can get addicted to this show
I love this show. Since getting rid of cable tv I started binge watching Ghost Whisperers. I watched when it first came out and when it popped up to stream, I decided to watched one or two episodes. It turned into watching it all night every night. It is so addicting. When I got to the last episode in the 4th season I wasn't able to watch the 5th season but thankfully Amazon had my back! Its really a great show especially when an episode pulls you in.

The best of a very good series
Just a note on one episode in season 5. Episode number 4 "Do Over" may have been the best Ghost Whisperer episode and the series entire run. Despite having watched the series a few years back, I somehow missed that episode until now. The strength is in the story and benefits from having some terrific actors playing the rolls of the haunted and their ghosts. Not only the the guest stars (including Mike Farrell) nail their roles, but even those actors outside the primary story line were perfect. "Awards" got to Bryan Batt, David Andrews and Farrell. Jennifer Love Hewitt as usual has to play the link between the show's tragic, comic, dramatic and romantic scenes without losing grip on her own character. Despite all the moving pieces in this story she never puts a foot wrong, and Camryn Manheim also is successfully stretched in many different directions in her roll. Other cast regulars also nailed their parts, as usual. Show creator John Gray gets the writing credit for one of the best one hour episodes of any TV show I've ever seen.

Feel-Good, Tear-Jerker Show
I bought Season 5 of 'The Ghost Whisperer' because it was the only season not available to stream on any of the services that I utilize. If you haven't seen it: it is a feel-good show with some tear-jerker episodes. Jennifer Love Hewitt stars as a woman who can hear and see ghosts. Each episode she encounters a new ghost who she must 'cross over' to the other side / 'into the light.'

Great show
I have loved this show from the beginning, and this season stood up to the previous standard set, imo. It took a little while for me to catch on, and understand the whole "shinies" and "shadows" thing, but that was either the producers point, or because it had been so long since I watched season 4 that I forgot some details. I was glad that I was finally able to see Jaime Kennedy as Eli, and not see him as Jaime Kennedy anymore, I think that his performance improved a lot, I was able to take his character a lot more seriously. I also enjoyed that Delia was a lot more accepting of the goings-on, but still managed to maintain her hesitation about the involvement of her and her family. The boy who played Melinda's son did a great job, he portrayed such innocence and and acceptance of the ghosts and other beings he saw, I almost could believe they are a part of his real life also. I was disappointed that the series ended, but glad that it ended on such a bright note, with Aiden and the shinies winning against the shadows.

After the amazing Jim/Sam storyline of the previous season this one moves forward five years and now Jim/Sam and Melinda have a child in the form of Aiden. He, too, is a sensitive and assists Melinda in her work with crossing spirits over into the light. Jim has become a doctor in the local hospital, Eli is still on campus, Delia has her real estate firm and Ned is studying the occult and other ghost related phenomena. As in all the previous seasons there are spirits for Melinda to bring peace to and cross over once they understand the full truth behind their lives and deaths. As the season progresses there is also the underlying plot of the "Shinies" and "Shadows" whom Aiden can see, but not Melinda. As the season draws to a close there is a real threat to Melinda and Aiden but to see the resolution you will have to buy the season yourselves. As always the beautiful Jennifer Love Hewitt is beguiling and heart warming, and her ability to hold the whole show together, for me, was still so evident. She has such belief in the whole programme and her love for the show and the characters is very strong. Jim is such a support and a great dad to boot. The only way in which I felt Melinda was let down was by the constant comments by Delia to "let this one go" but even then Delia could not help but step up to the plate when Melinda most needed her even if it put her own life at risk (again, watch the season to see what I mean). The support from Ned and Eli was great as, despite her Penthius usage, Melinda still needed outside help. It was so nice that the cast and crew got to celebrate reaching episode 100 but then such a shame that the whole show came to an end barely 7 episodes later. Five years (or possibly more) have been taken up with this phenomenal show and I, for one, will miss it now it has finished. (Maybe time to watch the whole series from the top!) I find Jennifer Love Hewitt very sexy and attractive, I cannot deny this, but to share a lunch date with her and just talk about the show and life in general would be an awesome experience and one to treasure for all my life. A dream, maybe, but then as this show instructs those who want to understand, dreams, visions and such like are as much part of life as anything else. Thank you JLH and all the cast and crew, the journey was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
