These pens write beautifully. No smudging, splotching, and they last a good long time. As fine point pens go, this one is very practical on a day-to-day basis. I use it in the office. For a .4mm it provides a very strong line, and a resilient point. I am a connoisseur of fine point Japanese and Korean pens for over 30 years, and this pen is first-rate. If you have never purchased a pen that is under .5mm and want to test the waters of a extra fine point, buy this pen.

These pens are a joy to write and draw with. The ink comes out smoothly and I don't think I have ever had a problem with big globs of it coming out. My only complaint would be that the ink runs out too fast, but the refills are affordable and I think it is worth it.

This a three pack and I absolutely LOVE this one. I now have one in my purse, journal & at my desk. It’s a great thin line and very smooth to use. Highly recommend!

As you can see from the photo, I compared it to those pens. I personally love good quality pens and here's what I think.. - ink quality is amazing ans glides well, it is dark and doesn't slip lines when writing. - personally the grip of this pen is obv thicker than the muji 0.38 but I like it since my hand strains smtimes from gripping the muji pens body when I'm writing for a longgg time. since the energel clena 0.4 body is thicker to grip while writing it's more comfortable for a long writing session! - smudge test passed! ESPECIALLY from a LEFT HANDED PERSON, smudge test on gel pens are important and this passed it! - it is the perfect pen to get if u want to switch with something close to the muji 0.38 black. I ALWAYS use the muji 0.38 but I've been recently looking for smthing that is the same quality or even better than it but in a clicky pen, AND PPL THIS IS IT TRUST ME. U won't regret (pentel might as well sponsor me like damn) ! if ur wondering that 0.2 difference with the muji 0.38 and this energel clean 0.4... u honestly don't feel it unless ur someone who loves pointy feel type of pens (me). Conclusion: AN AMAZING CLICKY PEN THAT U CAN SWITCH WITH MUJI 0.38 ! :>
