Well-made of solid metal
If you compare this to the average 16-hp muffler from a big box store, you'll see it weighs quite a bit more. While it doesn't make the engine any quieter, it does lower the tone of the exhaust which makes it easier to be around. As always, wear ear protection.

Excellent muffler - works great on my B&S 8HP engine!
Excellent muffler - works great on my old Montgomery Ward 12T splitter w/ B&S 8HP engine. This muffler has a 1 inch pipe, so I had to add a 1 inch to 3/4 inch reducer on the engine. I used an elbow, which helped move the muffler out of my way. Note the muffler does not unscrew from the pipe it is mounted on...it's welded in place.
