Tips N Tricks
The Nano Loco 5AC is one of my personal favorite stations for ptmp and ptp as they work great for fairly long distances. A few things I noticed in other reviews that may be misleading are addressed below: You will need to buy at least 2 to do ptp and ptmp. These aren’t routers that will generate an ssid. They are more like wireless Ethernet with outputs to plug into a router or wireless access point. These do NOT come with POE (power over Ethernet) injectors, so if you don’t own a ubiquiti 24v Poe injector or UISP/edge switch/router, you won’t be able to even turn it on. These are super simple to setup, but require a few pre requisites. You first need to go to UISP.com, register a site (all of the setup steps are completely free, absolutely zero monthly payments), then plug in one the nano locos with an Ethernet cord to the Poe port located on the injector. The other port is to be plugged into the back of your router, switch, or dedicated permanent Ethernet run to the nano locos best point for line of sight. You can then either go to a desktop/laptop on the same network, go to your UISP site (myuispsite.UISP.com) then go to the device tab. A popup should appear asking you to adopt a device. A simpler route would be to download the UISP mobile app on your phone, then sign in to your site, hit the plus button, then setup your device. You shouldn’t have to change anything but the name, ssid, and password (further detailed instructions are included). You then take the second nano and plug it into Poe and your local internet, but instead tell it to link with your first loco. You then move it to your remote location, plug the injector into wall power and the other lan port to a router for the remote buildings WiFi. They aren’t super difficult, they are a great value, and they outperform all competition. Ubiquiti makes great products in not just the UISP line, but also the UniFi line ui.com

Entry camera 1/2 mile from my home up and running in less than a day.
I installed a entry camera at my ranch used these Ubiquiti units. I am a rancher and NOT an electrical engineer. With my minimal knowledge and experience I was able to get the camera installed and running in less than two hours. It covers a distance of about 1/2 mile and the picture quality is great. I am using a PTZ camera with vehicle and human recognition and all systems work well Signal strength was not affected by the recent rain/snow storm and we maintained great connectivity throughout the storm and sub-freezing temperatures. The coverage from my access point will allow me to install additional cameras in the barn beyond the entrance camera. Very pleased with customer support, build quality, and ease of installation.

Review from certified Ubiquiti technician
I am a Ubiquiti certified technician. That means I am a glorified I.T. guy. I have been using Ubiquiti products for 10 years - they get better and better every year. This bridge set up is no exception. Please understand this before buying this product 1- It is NOT a wireless access point 2- It is NOT user friend to set up 3- You have to have 2 for them to work. 1 will not do anything for you. Think of these units as a simple wire between two points. They transmit a wireless link. They do not provide Wireless access unless you by an AP and attach to them I use them for my clients frequently when they need internet 100 feet away or 1000 feet away. I have used these little devices up to a mile before and they can actually go further. They come with a default IP address of 192.168.1.20. You can access the GUI (Graphical User Interface) from any web browser. The default IP user name is : ubnt The default password is : ubnt There are many videos that will show you how to set them up. Great little devices. I highly recommend Andrew Byrd Andrew Byrd Networks

Works great so far on the first week
Works great after I got both units outside and on some polls to clear the trees. The first 3 days I barely had a signal but one was in a house with a metal roof and the other was on a 5 foot poll right outside the other building. I finally got the right hardware to run both units outside, one on a 10 foot poll, the other on a 20 foot poll to clear the small trees in the area. The link is just under 1000 feet and went from 5-12mbps with dropouts to over 500mbps afterwards. I'm sure with a bit more tweaking I'll be able to get full speed out of these units which is good enough. Sure beats running a 1000' fiber line and dealing with the time and expense. I haven't had a chance to test rain fade yet. While I can't get the full speed out of my gigabit fiber line with this to the remote building, it sure beats the 1mbps I was getting before with a pair of Unifi AC Pro access points that would always drop in slight rain, and for the price range I'm very happy.

Not the easiest to set-up but great once done.
Its not obvious based on the product description, that these WILL NOT WORK WITH 12v POE. You need to either have a 24V POE switch / router or buy 24V POE injectors to even turn these on. Very annoying to find this out after they arrived. While it wasn't the easiest network device I've used, once it was set up it works better than expected. As a test set up, I have one in a shed (remote client), vertically wedged between two cardboard boxes, roughly aimed at the house. The Access point (local connection) is horizontal on top of a file cabinet roughly aimed at the shed from my house about 55 feet away. The throughput is still 250 - 300 MBps! I expect better performance once they are aligned. I wasn't able to use the suggested phone app, UISP, but once I realized that both ends can't be an access point, they connected. I gave these a 4 star primarily as I'm not certain of their origin, They arrived in plastic envelopes in small boxes placed into a larger shipping box. Only one came with a relatively useless start up manual. Neither came in a box as if they were genuine Ubiquiti. I really liked some of the built in network analysis tools, to help you choose the best frequency between the two, for your specific area. Some are way advanced, like the "constellation diagram", which I guess would be useful for tweaking the set-up aiming to perfection. These were obviously intended for someone that has at least rudimentary knowledge of network set up and operation. Many of the Youtube videos presumed some level of competence to get through the set up. None were really good at setting them up without additional software to be loaded. I'm using these devices to connect remote security cameras to my camera network.

Works great, but you need to know what you are doing.
I like these because they are fast & reliable. There is ZERO tech support, so this is a word of warning to the rookies that don't know the difference between an ip address and your grandma's address. Their tech forums are very knowledgeable, but you won't get much help if you ask: "Hey I just bought 2 of these things, how do I get them to work?"

Ideal para crear enlaces PtP
Create a 200m PTP link in record time. Installation and configuration is really for dummies. Directly with the App for the cell phone. I had no need to use the Notebook to get the link up and running. 100% recommendable ------ Cree un enlace punto a punto de 200 mts en tiempo récord. La instalación y configuración es realmente for dummies. Directamente con la App para el celular. No tuve la necesidad de utilizar la Notebook para poner en funcionamiento el enlace. 100 % recomendable

Great quality and works well!
I needed an option for wifi out to the shop and around the property. I came across these ubiquity products and have watched a ton of YouTube videos. I purchased a set of these and hooked them up. It was a bit of a technical process to set these up, but very doable. There are lots of videos to help. I am very impressed with the ubiquity products and will be adding more in the future around our rural heavily treed property.

Solid Connection
I purchased 2 of these to replace outdated equipment used to share internet with my parents 200 feet away. I recently got Starlink and wanted them to benefit fast internet as well so I settled on ubiquiti and happy I did. These are very strong and so much more beyond typical consumer equipment. I can easily view statistics on AP side and Station side through the app which is great and always works ! Setup is not typical and took me some reading online to figure it all out, I found that the terminology used in configuration is geared towards professional I.T. people which made setup confusing so some research really helped sort me out. These units only work together or with multiple units and are not visible on the AP side like most. So basically it’s invisible as no SSID is broadcasted. From now on I’m only using ubiquiti products because of the quality and all the excellent features.
