I purchased two of these shirts, both black, both Medium. They arrived today, in only 3 days time. (I had also ordered FOL shirts as well to compare. They won't arrive until 7 days.) We were pleased that these shirts were well made and heavy weight material. They looked a size large instead of medium. I washed one in hot water, and dried it on hot. I laid the freshly washed shirt on top of the unwashed shirt. I measured the unwashed sleeves sticking out from under the washed sleeves. It appeared that they had become about 1" shorter in length. (When I actually measured each sleeve there was an actual difference of only 1/4" each sleeve.) The sleeves now measure 7" long instead of 7 1/4" long. The width of the sleeves averaged about 3/4" narrower when measuring the unwashed sleeve sticking out from under the washed sleeve. (When I did an actual measurement there was only a difference of 1/2". ) The width of the washed sleeve now measured 7 1/2", instead of the unwashed 8". The sides of the shirt shrunk in about 1/2" on each side. The actual measurements across the shirt chest, (lying flat), unwashed 19 1/2", washed 18 1/2". From top to bottom of the shirts it shrunk about 1/4", but in actual measurement from bottom of ribbing at neckline, to bottom of hem; Unwashed - 24", and washed - 24", I would have to say that some of the "shrinkage" was due to loosing the "pressed" look, (sizing), of the unwashed shirt. When actually measured it hadn't shrunk as much as originally thought. I next had my 23 year old son try on the two different shirts. He normally wears a size medium shirt. He said that although the washed shirt still fit just fine, the unwashed shirt felt more like the size he usually wears. When I asked him if I should buy him a size large and then let it shrink, or if he would prefer the medium, he answered that he would get the medium as he didn't feel that it had shrunk that much. I had my 25 year old daughter also try on the shirts as she also wears a medium adult shirt. She said that she felt that they both felt the same and that she would order the medium shirt. (Her usual size.) Although I Did make sure to wash the new shirt in hot water and to dry it in a hot dryer as well, there is no telling if the shirt will shrink in any additional washings or not. However, the shrinkage, (in our estimate), is within reason. So far the black color of the shirt also did not change that much. The color-catcher I had thrown in with the shirt changed to a sort of 'heather grey', but not a dark black in any way. (I took pictures to post, but could find no way to upload the pictures to this post.) Hope this helps someone. I will say that these are a very nice quality. **Q: is it true to size???** A: No, I'm usually a 4x but this 4x fit me like a 2x and it was a little tight. I would go one size up to be safe. My 6'3.5" tall husband was more than pleased with the length. I ordered them in white. There were 2 in the pkg. These are NOT made from cheesy material. He was happy with them.
