SUPERB TRIPLE DISC QUEEN SET OF THE BAND S FINEST BROADCAST CONCERTS As legendary a group as any that existed during the golden age of rock music, Queen remain as popular today as ever they did during their most successful years. And despite extraordinary frontman Freddie Mercury having tragically passed on almost 30 years ago, their classic songs and uplifting albums are as much a part of the 21st Century s soundtrack as they were in the second half of its predecessor. In honour of Queen s ongoing achievements this triple disc collection brings together a number of the finest broadcast recordings that emerged from the band during their career in the 1970s and 1980s. First up on DISC ONE is a show the band played in Mannheim, Germany in June 1996 while on their final tour with Freddie out front, the exceptional Magic Tour. Next up, DISC TWO features their 1981 stadium concert in Buenos Aires, when Queen played to an audience of over 300,000 fans - at that time the biggest single concert crowd ever in Argentina. DISC THREE concludes this delightful set with their 1976 Hyde Park, London gig, when as headliners at a free concert during the UK s long-hot-summer of 76, organised by Virgin Records boss Richard Branson, was perhaps the finest show they played during their first decade together. Justifiable for the Hyde Park show alone.
The first two discs of this set are truncated versions of full shows. The Mannheim show from 86 is available in full on Amazon and the same for the South American show. Most people will purchase this for the Hyde Park 1976 show...a legendary concert. Here we have it in full and to date probably as good as it gets. It starts with the taped Bohemian Rhapsody intro to which the full band come in for the rock section. Like all tapes and cds of this show the vocals fail for first few seconds before Freddie comes in in full glory. The band are on fire for this free show with great versions of Ogre Battle, The Prophet's Song etc. Although supposedly broadcast be a London radio station this sounds as if it comes fromantic the film of the show which is often shown at the conventions. Many Japanese bootlegs exist of this show from the infamous audience recording on Marc Records up to latter day productions on cd of the full show. A good and cheap way to get this show in the best quality until officially released by the band with a dvd etc. The other two discs are worth it for edited highlights but will not be played often.

Terrible sound quality
I'm sorry to say that the sound quality on these recordings, in particular disc 3, is of very poor quality and not fit for purpose. I think I've heard or owned every queen live recording previously available and it seems like there's a reason these recordings have remained hidden for so long, as they were either recorded on poor equipment, or have simply deteriorated over time. Very much the bottom of the barrel and best avoided, I'm afraid.

QUEEN TRANSMISSION IMPOSSIBLE. Impossible to enjoy !
As an avid Queen fan since their first album, I was looking forward to receiving the latest Queen album Transmissions Impossible. Just do not even bother to buy this one. Even a Queen fan should give this one a miss. The recording quality is very poor. Terrible quality.
