I’ve tried using variations of “toe undies/thongs” that were never snug enough during turns (they would bunch up) on even my wide foot. For reference I am a 6.5 with a very high arch and a high instep (ideal feet for pointe) with a narrow heel and as mentioned wider than average girth around the balls of my feet. I was surprised these work as I was sure that the knit fabric would have too much “give”. But these are great doing fast lunges on a dance floor. Good grip that you can opt to dig into or not.
