This fixed my door alarm problem.

Latch mechanism doesn't work.
The media could not be loaded. After locking the door from the inside or keyfob the lock will sporadically unlatch after many handle pulls. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times now and the results vary in difficulty of door opening after every reinstall.

Fixed door lock issue on my daughter's Jetta
My daughter's pass. door stopped locking and after some research, figured this part was the issue. Factory part is very expensive, but this works just fine. Very happy!

Very poor operation
I checked everything prior to install, and it seemed to work fine, but I could not test locking and unlocking prior to install. After installing, when locking then unlocking the door, I have to pull the handle 2-5 times before the door will open, from either the inside or the outside. It has never opened on the first handle pull after unlocking. And sometimes the outside handle gets stuck in the position pulled away from the door, as if the spring is not pulling it back in, and I have to push the handle back into place.Based on the other reviews here, I'm getting a replacement from a more reliable manufacturer and getting this out of my door before it ends up permanently locked shut.

Works but not like factory
Locks and unlocks with fob, latches and unlatches fine but after car has been unlocked you have to pull handle, release then pull a second time to open door. Inside and outside. But it lets you in the car… so end result is the same I suppose

Permanently locked
Install was easy and everything worked for a few weeks. Now my drivers door is permanently locked. I am unable to open the door from the inside nor outside. I can hear the lock actuator but it does not unlock.

Stopped working within minutes
The install was not bad but after several minutes of opening and closing. THE DOOR IS NOW LOCKED AND DOESN'T OPEN. Awful QC that has created a real headache

Direct replacement for 2008 VW Rabbit drivers door
All in about 45 mins to replace. Make sure you have the M6 tripple square socket to remove the 2 bolts holding the actuator in. Bits needed are M6 triple square bit, T30 torx, T20 torx, flat blade screw driver and pry tool.

No Good
2009 VW Beetle. Arrived quickly, that's the only thing good about it. After installation the door didn't open. I had to fight for several hours to be able to reach the mechanical lever INSIDE of the unit. Going to send it back.

The media could not be loaded. Cheep, original part cost 250. First wasn’t opening door after first try. Was opening it after 2 or 3 try. Now opens from 1 try, I have it for around month after 2 week door lock sensor starter work not properly. Don’t works properly with mechanical lock.
