Will a standard size twin mattress fit or not? One review says not.

I'm using a standard twin that is 10" deep. I wouldn't recommend going thinner than 10". There's just enough headboard left to comfortably rest your pillows against it.

Are the cushions available for purchase at amazon instead of the twin mattress?

You are better off to assemble the bed measure it and buy a twin size mattress accordingly

What is the weight capacity?

I am 180lbs and at times one of my kids sleep With me. So I can say A good 250lbs with no creaks or breakage. My kids also jump on my bed they along weigh together 115lbs.
