A: Not opaque at all. Not as thick/heavy as typical blackout curtains though. For that reason you may want to line.

This is really high quality velvet and I am very pleased with it. I got the olive and it was exactly as pictured. I was worried it was going to look cheap as some velvet is too shiny. I used it to reupholster my headboard and it made it look extremely expensive!
