My kitty lovessss this toy!The catnip comes in a little bag that resembles a tea bag and you can place it in the pouch of the fish where the mechanical part is, or choose to leave it out.It is set to go off in intervals to provoke the cat’s attention, however, if enough pressure is put on the mechanical part inside the fish from the outside of the fish (if the kitty becomes interested in the toy while it isn’t already in motion), it starts flipping around.When I first unboxed it and gave it a charge, I thought mine wasn’t going to work because of how long it took to start flipping about, but I wasn’t yet aware of the pressure trick.

This thing does shut off when it’s not being played with but it continuously gets played with lasting about 15-20 min max then it needs charging again. But they do love the action it has.

The first one I bought broke in a few days so I returned it for a replacement. The next one lasted about two months. For the low price the cats got my money's worth. Can't expect them to last too long when kitties get so rough. Looks like I'll have to buy another.

This fish is just the size for a cat to use for his back feet. it wiggles just enough, intermittently so it keeps the cat's focus. It actually gets our old fat cat to move, and i'm positive younger kitties would love it. I like the way we recharge it with a little cable that comes with it - no batteries to open it up to replace. It shuts off automatically so the charge lasts a long time.. Great little fish I'd buy again.

Roger is not fully accepted by his tormentors, yet. One has asserted dominance as you can see in the pic. I haven't tested battery life, yet, so can't comment on that. My frizzlies aren't ready for Flop Mode at all. They ran. It took a day for Precious to forgive me and allow Roger to support her royal curled feeties. I did notice that the zipper over the battery/floppy bits doesn't fully close but nothing falls out so I'm not particularly bothered by that. Otherwise, he's well made and flops quite well to the dismay of my two intrepid predators. Will also say that the gift nip was a partial start but these two are hard core so if your fish manglers are used to the Spice, be prepared to BYON for this toy. I hope my frizzlies decide Roger is fun cause I'm looking forward to the entertainment.

My two cats don't play with many toys. They prefer to run through the house and play with each other. However, my 7 year-old female does pay some attention to the fish. She likes to hide and watch it while it is flopping around. If it moved and flopped around for longer periods of time she would attack it and enjoy it much more. She is a hunter and needs time to watch it and plan her attack. When she is playing her way, running through the house, she runs by it, smacks it hard wihout slowing and keeps on going. I do recommend this toy for cats that like to play with toys and would give it 5 stars if it ran for a longer period of time. Because it turns off quickly, I give it a 3.

She is kind of scared by the loud tail sound it makes and its fairy aggressive but when hyper, she loves to rough bunny kick play with it. When she is tired she just falls asleep on her fish.Only bad thing is that my fish doesnt keep a battery charge for too long. It dies after about 5 play times and I have to recharge it again. My kitty constantly kicks it when it is working thats why im giving 5 stars and also she loves this as her teddy companion. Very cute toy!! Lots of compliments saying its extremely cute to watch. Wish it held the charge a bit longer, but thats about it.
